Ok just forget anything I ever said about Jake Heaps.



I pressed the panic button too early.



I was way off base.



I was wrong about that kid.



I was wrong about the team.



I was wrong about Bronco.



Never been so happy to be wrong about anything--to tell you the truth.



Go ahead. "HEAP" it on. I deserve it.



Meanwhile...I didn't expect to be thinking this but...could we actually beat Utah this year?

I stand behind all my criticism of Heaps. He wasn't playing well. He is now.



Yes, I do think we can beat Utah.

True, Kitic he wasn't playing well, but I do wish to acknowledge my error in extrapolating that he had very little upside.

Ahh. I don't think I ever challenged his upside. The truth is the truth until it changes.

What sparked the defense? Is this really just the effect of getting rid of Hill? Amazing difference between early season and now on THAT side of the ball.

What started as a "Bronco's just doing the only thing he knows to help the team" is starting to look like a stroke of brilliance, and shows that Bronco had a better finger on the pulse of the team than any of us realized.

Of course, once he put his finger back on the team and realized they didn't have a pulse. What it shows is that Bronco knew how to fix the problems better than us, but I think many of us realized some of the problems well before he took action to remedy them.

I think if you watched the TCU game closely, that it was obvious that Bronco had sparked the D and that good things were on the horizon.

I give full credit for the improvement the past two weeks to Jake Heaps. Ashworth had a great game, but I am going to guess that those passes were THROWN more consistently where, when, and with appropriate velocity and touch expected and practiced. Just a hunch because I did not get to see or hear the game.



My tiny granddaughter was worth the sacrifice even though I was very excited to see this game and left my ranch in Ventura County where there is MTN access on Direct TV and drove to Orange County right as the game started.



I thought my iPhone would pick up KSL but I couldn't get it working.

Hey CougBib, good to have another Ventura County fan on the board. You may have already tried this, but I have the KSL app on my iPhone. Once you launch it, there's a volume icon in the lower right-hand corner. Tap it with your thumb and you'll see little green music notes dancing on the icon until the sound comes through. It was great using it last night to listen to the basketball game while I cleaned the kitchen to try to get brownie points with my wife. Didn't get the brownie points, but the game was great to hear.

I split credit. Ashworth drops at least two of those passes earlier this year. The one he went up and outjumped the defender and gets it; and the other the bullet in the endzone. Give that guy credit. Probably saved Jake from a pick-able ball. And yes, some sweet throws by Jake.



Good for you Bib. I dont know if you are referring to a birth or just seeing your gdaughter.

I don't think anyone is saying it is a coincidence. Both parts of that equation have improved dramatically the last 2 1/2 weeks. Let's just hope both parts keep doing their job this well when they face difficult teams.

Congrats on your granddaughter. From what I hear there is nothing like that experience. As I heard once, "The reason that grandparents and grandchildren get along so well is that they have a common enemy." 8)

He is looking much better but I hope to never see a true freshman QB at BYU again. The same for other freshman starts in the first game of the season. We have seen that these kids have talent but they need time to adjust to the college game. No more controversies of talent vs experience.
