Are you guys listening to Bronco...Riley 4 QB ?

I am listening to ksl and Bronco could make me crazy with the quarterback controversy again... I know this has been hashed but sheesh!

He said that he loves Riley and his attitude and that they would compete in the spring for QB. He DID say that Jake comes in ahead because of reps but that he really likes Riley and will enjoy the competition. It made me throw up in my mouth a little....

If Jake's as good as advertised, he should have little to no trouble with someone like Nelson. right? Spring competition would be great. It will make both of them work their tails off during the offseason and hopefully the best man gets the job.

if it goes into the fall, trouble.

I already heard that Nelson would compete. Not really an unexpected turn of events.

IF it is actual competition. The 1's vs the 1's running the same types of plays.

If it is Jake against the 1's, vs. Riley against the 3's again - then count me out.

If they try and do a 2 qb thing again I'll start my fire coaches plause again, this time including the HC. I think he's perfect for this job, he admits his mistakes, but 2qb again, and cheating are best qb all spring/summer again would kill the program...again.

Bronco is too smart for the same thing to happen next year. He knows a mistake was made this year and has said as much. If Riley starts next year it will actually be because he outperformed Heaps in camp. And if Riley can do that, I won't argue with it. I doubt that happens though.

It's not likely Riley will beat Heaps next spring if Heaps keeps playing the way he is, but I have absolutely no problem with the competition, as long as it's finished by spring.

If Jake can win two or three more games there should be no competition come spring. Riley can practice his 4-7 snap package, but he should not compete for the starting job.

Now, if Jake is more TCU-like than UNLV-like these last few games then Lark and Munns should get more reps than they got the two previous camps as well.

Personally, I think Jake locks up the starting job between now and the end of the year.

I'm fine with a "competition" but if it turns into a real competition I will be severely disappointed. If Heaps keeps playing like he is playing though, Riley has NO chance.

I'm actually excited to see what an "unrusty" and fit Munns looks like next year. He could be a serious contender for number two on the depth chart.

This is ridiculous. The competition should be for who gets the secondary reps between lark and munns. Nelson should just be a situational qb/receiver.runningback.

If BYU keeps playing the way they have the last few weeks Heaps will not lose the starting job.I think its all about keeping them motivated.

I have no problem with Riley coming in on situational plays because he's a great runner and know's the offense. Gives us another weapon. This my friends is what should have conspired this year but got screwed up by one Mr. Anae.

Yeah - Urban Meyer screwed up and played 3. Steve Spurrier was credited on CBSSportsline as being the innovative pioneer of rotating 2. What a bunch of idiots. But, I think they only do it situationally or when they don't have a 1 ready. I am happy to trust Bronco to puck the right QB.

It seems like a lot of folks don't want Heaps to have to compete. I have never heard Heaps complain about having to compete.

Give it a rest.

PS I hope Heaps continues to improve and that any tough decisions about who plays QB will because we have too many really good options Vs this year when none were ready.

I was traveling to see my tiny newborn granddaughter who is still under 5 pounds and missed the game.

But judging from the scoreboard, Jake Heaps riding tide continued to Lift All Boats including Ashworthless. BTW that nickname disgusts me.
