Looks like the WAC is adding 3 teams, possibly 4, for 2012-13 season. They are:

Denver

Texas-San Antonio

Texas State

Montana is the 4th possibility.

Do Denver and Texas-SA play football?

It must be rough to be in the WAC. Utah St is looking at going to a bowl game that year. They will have some easy wins to get to 6 wins. Maybe the league should not have each team play each other each year and get some games against some real teams.

Andy Katz knows...

Denver doesn't have football, but their hockey team is usually pretty good. Doesn't help the WAC though. I hope Montana steps up--I've always thought the Griz should be a FBS school.

Denver doesn't, but UT-SA has a decent program with major potential. They've been looking to jump to FBS for a few years a la Marshall, but it hasn't quite all come together until now. It could be a very good pickup over the long term. They're already better than most Sun Belt teams and the dregs of C-USA and the WAC. They could compete with USU, LT, NMSU as soon as their first or second year in the wac.

Utah St will still finish below third. They suck.

Montana would be an instant contender as well. They apparently average 25,000 a game at their home games, so they'd probably be in the top half in the WAC for attendance as well.

This seems odd to me, because neither UTSU or TSU sponsor enough sports to qualify to be a I-A (FBS) football school (Montana/Montana State, who are tied at the hip, don't either). I'm not sure if either pass the 15,000 average attendance criteria either.

Denver (sunbelt) does not play football. Neither do Seattle or Pacific (all 3 are WCC expansion candidates).
