Jobs in Washington DC

Does anyone have any insider information in regards to jobs in Washington DC? My sister lives there with a Masters in Public Administration but is unable to find a job. Anyone who knows any one in hiring position?

I don't know of anything in particular, but it seems like there are always government jobs opening up in DC. With an MPA, I would think she would have a good chance for working for the State Department. The problem with federal government jobs is that is takes a long time to get through the hiring process, so you have to be really patient. It took me approximately 9 months to get a firm offer. But that was with several rounds of interviews since I was applying to an attorney position while in law school. Most jobs don't take that long.
