MWC Rankings Week 10

What a weekend for Cougar fans. BYU trounces UNLV and TCU humiliates :utard: in their own house. The pUke fans dressed for a funeral in their all black wear. Little did they realize it was their own funeral. TCU deserves a title shot as much as any team in the country at this point and there is no reason for them not to let off the throttle and finish the season 12-0. SDSU overcame a pesky CSU squad to assure themselves a winning record this season. It was tempting to move them into 2d place this weekend, except they need to earn that spot by beating at least one of the top 3 traditional teams of the MWC. They get their chance when they take on :utard:.



BYU's win was just what the doctor ordered. A game reminiscent of those ol' WAC games where BYU would lay the wood to UNLV. Heaps had a great game, quelling the dissension for this week. CSU's close road loss to SDSU keeps them at 6th, but it's also because the last 3 teams in the MWC really are pathetic.



UNM rose from the ashes and beat UW. You read that right. The Lobos beat the Pokes. How embarrassing for UW. As a reward for UNM and punishment for UW, UNM moves out of the cellar and UW takes their place.



Of note, if BYU wins out, they will finish 2d in the MWC for the second year in a row. Also, SDSU can still win the conference title if they win out. That's a tall order as no one in the MWC has shown any ability to hang with TCU for a full 60 minutes so far.

PS. forgotten in the review was AFA beating Army, thereby winning the CIC Trophy for the first time in like 7 years.

I agree - if BYU plays AFA again, BYU wins. Ditto USU and Reno. And I wouldn't mind another shot at the Criminoles either.

Cause SDSU is having a great season (for them). They are 7-2 overall and 4-1 in conference. I had all three tied after SDSU beat AF, but this week, it's SDSU, BYU, AFA in order, and it's a very close bunching at that.

Aside from TCU, that entire list is up for grabs next week.



I'm just glad that CSU is out of bowl contention.... I think the added fire of playing at home and still being bowl eligible would be a lot for a Coug team that hasn't looked good on the road.



I picked a win several weeks ago against CSU, but win or lose we are going to learn a ton about our team next saturday; even more than we learned yesterday.

I know this was just one weekend but I'll put my blue goggles on and say we win out and win our bowl finishing 8-5. I believe Utards now come unglued and loose two more before we beat them making them loose their last 4 games finishing the season 8 - 4 and then probably loose their bowl game ending at 8-5. And thus we see, two programs going in opposite directions. I also think if we play Florida State again, lets do it near the end of their season. They always start like gangbusters and implode as the season goes on.

I am not a Utah fan and hope we beat them but bottom line Utah does not lose bowl games and I dont see why this year will be any different.
