interview with Steve Cleveland during BYUhawaii game

Solid guy. I get the feeling he loved his time in Provo.



"Leaving was a matter of priority (family, etc)... felt strongly that Dave Rose's time had arrived" basically.

Steve got a sweetheart deal to go back to his hometown. He coached at fresno city cc forever and when he retires he'll actually get an anuual retirement check from the state of california when you add his time at the community college and at fresno. It was a no brainer financial move.

Except when the State of California declares Bankruptcy. Oh, heres an idea, lets legalize and tax marijuana--that state is a screw-ewed.

Basically just talked about how much he loved coaching at BYU. Loved his coaches, loved the special wins they had, loved the Marriott Center environment. Knows that it is a special place to be a coach. When asked why he left, said that he felt it was time to be closer to family and that it was time for Coach rose to take over. Basically just a "I still love BYU" type interview.

Most of the time I'd agree with you, but when BYU is winning by 20-30 points and there's a chance to talk to a former coach/next opponent coach who happens to be a quality individual, I don't mind so much.



At that point a 3 minute interview was more interesting to me than the actual game. But, I would understand if others don't look at it like that.
