Safe or Stupid Statement?

In my office of 5 employees, I work with 4 U grads so it is always fun to talk sports. In our weekly prediction game, most have predicted a UNLV win by 20+ which is a joke. I have Y by 18 with the hope of a better offensive showing.



So in the heat of the moment when discussing, I said if BYU doesn't score 30 on UNLV's iffy defense, I will shave my head.



So what say you, safe, debatable, or stupid?

...depends on how much hair you have now.

Nothing is safe with this BYU team, but remind the Ute fans that after reflecting on how UNLV tore up the highly favored Utes a few years back - maybe you were too bold.



I would have a hard time guaranteeing 30 points from this offense even if I was the entire defense - TIC TIC TIC



But I read that UNLV has not held anyone under 30. So, we have a 50/50 chance. I would give higher odds, but we likely will have a conservative, grinding offensive strategy and that results in fewer points. The defense may need a pick 6 to get you over 30.

Your screwed. we haven't scored that many points on any team this year. It is definitely a possibility but to bet your hair on it is quite ballsy. What did you get in return. If Utah loses on Saturday did you require that they shave their goatees?

They held UNM to 10 and Idaho to 30, and Utah to 38. The rest scored 40+.

I have a bag of Bic's that I'll send you if you give me your address. I'll never use them and my wife brought them by mistake. You're on your own for shaving cream, but I'd recommend it.

You've got to go with the trends. 24 points against SDSU. 25 points against Wyoming. That means 26 points against UNLV.

LOL bro. Apparently statistics never entered your mind or the fact that the O is capable of only 2 solid drives per game even at home. Props to you for the gutsy bet but it'll take a defensive score to make that happen, and that is not BYU's forte in the least.

To answer your original question, I would say you were bold in that prediction but not necessarily stupid.

Oh, and as to those who ask to a counter bet for the U fans. Nada...trying to get a U fan to commit to anything with regards to their team is next to impossible. I so enjoy the fickleness of their fanhood.
