Big Least Expanding: TCU?

They decided to add 2 football teams, possibly basketball.



What conferences meet to discuss expansion "during" the season?

The worst BcS conference in the country.



I mentioned TCU as the best bet 2 months ago, but never guessed Houston as a consideration, I guess the pair of them would make a rivalry. TCU will be the champs of that league EVERY year. BYU would be the champs every year in that league too.

if tcu is invited, despite the geographical problem, they accept. no brainer. they would have path to national title every year. a team like tcu in the big east would dominate every year. their program would skyrocket despite the pain it would be.

the Big East may be weaker than the other BCS conferences during most years, but you guys are grossly underestimating the toll that playing a decent opponent every week would have on TCU. I hate to sound like a BCS homer, but playing Big East teams week in and week out is tougher than what the MWC schedule will be without (or possibly with) BYU and Utah.



TCU would compete, but they would not have an easy path to a BCS bowl year in and year out. Not even close.

Give me one Big Least team, and I'll give you a division II team that has beat them in the past 5 years, the overall record compared to other BcS worsts (BE will be worse overall), fan attendance, and SOS. True perhaps that a more populous Pittsburgh draws more than UNM. But a UNM has a better chance of beating the Big Easts best than a pac-10, big 10, big 12, or sec middle. TIC somewhat

Oh come on. There isn't a single big least team that could emerge undefeated from the MWC any of the last 5 years.



Everybody is entitled to his own opinion, but I doubt you'll get much support around here with a claim that a season in the big least is harder than a season in the MWC. The ONLY reason the big least is relevant is the east coast media man crush and the old money in that conference.



Opinions like this is why the MWC was doomed to fail even though it was playing better football than the pac 10, big 10 and big least for several years. It's just too hard to change public perception. Yewtah was smart to jump ship, as was BYU. TCU will be smart to jump to the big least even though in the end only BYU will be playing a more competitive schedule among the 3 schools.

West Virginia 2007... they completely destroyed Oklahoma without a head coach in their bowl game and had Pat White not broke his finger against Pitt in their last game they would of played in the BCS Championship game and likely of won. I believe that was the year Ohio St. played Florida, and had WVU not lost they would of played Ohio St. (I believe that's who was in) and sadly might of spanked my buckeyes.

You guys are confusing the tops of conferences with the entire conference.



Sure, Utah and BYU offer more of a challenge to TCU than the top two of the Big Least would most years, but I'm not comparing the tops of each conference. From top to bottom, the Big East is/would be a tougher conference for TCU to finish undefeated in than the MWC will be. Take away the top two or three teams of the MWC each year, and the MWC is vastly inferior to the Big East. CSU, UNLV, SDSU, UNM, and Wyoming are some of the worst of the worst in D1 football.

Take away the bottom 3 teams from the MWC and it is vastly superior to the big least....



Take away USC and the pac10 hasn't fielded a great team this century.



Take away basketball and the big least is a loser conference.
