Freshman Contributions

"The 2010 recruiting class for the Brigham Young Cougars was the best in a long time. By the time the 2010 season kicked off, it was apparent that many freshman from this recruiting class, as well as redshirt and return missionary freshman, would play significant minutes for BYU this year. Coming off the bye week, I thought it was a good time to look at how the freshmen are contributing through the first eight games."

Hoffman-Offensive Freshman of the year

I'd give Q the Freshman of the year on O. Just as many TDs, more touches, and more big plays. Neither has been a serious freshman standout, but Q has been more steady.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. Q has probably been more consistant though so I would have to agree on the Offensive MVP being his.

Q has been contributing since game one when he caught the td. I went with Hoffman because if you removed Q from the running backs JJ and Kariya could pick up the slack, but if you took Hoffman out of the receiving mix I don't know if his production would be replaced.

Q had a critical fumble deep in BYU territory. I forget whether he had any other fumbles, drops, etc. Hoff has had some drops. I forget whether he has had any fumbles. Does that change anyone's vote?
