There have been other issues with Langi for the last several months. I would love to see him turn things around and be our bruising, fast RB of the future, but I just don't see it happening.

According to the article , he took a drug test and passed though...

Looks like utah's chances of landing him just went way up. he will fit right in.

And yet we took KVN despite at least one alcohol related conviction right? Trespassing? If he wants to be a Cougar and wants to live up to the HC, bring him on!

Go Cougs!!!

He must not have inhaled.

But let the Utes have him - he can't even out run a police officer.

I hope Unga realizes a heavy factor of our offensive struggles are because he was kicked out early.

Now saying that do we want Langi? A future player (I know people change all the time) to just get bounced. I think the easy answer is yes. 1-3 years playing is better than 0. Save the weed money, play at BYU, set some records, move on for the better, stay the same, or get worse. Either way, thanks for the Ws

Really does sound like Unga, doesn't it. I bet he goes to Stanford now to get away from the SLC Valley. A chane might do him good.

I assure you that while some BYU fans have not written him off, that Stanford won't touch him with a 10 foot pole now. (He didn't make the scores anyhow)

Sometimes these kids need BYU more than BYU needs them.

Rumor has it that Kona Schwenke is seriously considering leaving Notre Dame now. There's a reason why Bronco goes out of his way to make sure that a kid really wants to be here; because if they're going to be wishy wishy with him, they might just be wishy washy in life.

I think we can all see that Manti Teo will never sniff a BCS game (and may never sniff a bowl game better than what he'd experience at the Y), yet will forever be remembered as the guy that wanted to paddle his own boat and was not a good fit for BYU.

Kyle Van Noy to me is different; he could have gone anywhere and settled for sitting out a year to become what I believe might be the best defensive player in BYU history by the time he leaves school. I also believe that BYU is exactly what he needed to keep his life on track to eventually play professionally.

Good luck to Langi, but I personally believe that he doesn't deserve BYU and not the other way around.

I was thinking the same thing. looks like he will be a ute because standford is not going to touch him now, not byu either, unless there is some kvn type of thing going on which i doubt.

whats up with the kona rumors. last i saw he was going to start getting playing time as of today. what are the rumors? why is he thinking of leaving? i agree as well. langi and byu are not a good fit. he can go to utah where they will take him with arms open.

I'll bet Langi wishes he had been sneaking into LES instead right now.

Hmm, sneaking into propoerty to smoke weed with your buddies or dreaming of Cougar greatness at LES...

 Honestly, I doubt Jake regrets walking into a wide open LES to dream of future glory. (I once walked right into the Swamp while I was driving back to KC from Orlando and ran stairs for an hour without a single person ever questioning it)

Jake didn't need to take a drug test after.... just win us a national championship before he's through.

Bingham has been very good to us, but Dave Peck needs to tighten his grip on these kids or the Miners are going to get stuck with a very bad label.

The newspaper artcle linked to the original post, iirc, said that four of them went flying out of the place in four different directions - but got caught.

I thought it was humorous since BYU takes so much heat for having slow players.

He is not the first BYU RB to smoke a little Wee, assuming he did smoke any - some kids will fake it to be cool - I faked drinking a beer once with my older brother's friends. Anyone remember the Galloping Greek - Chris Farasopolous SP? He may have been the first to smoke Wee cuz that was about 1970-1974 timeframe.

But someone predicted this type of problem would happen with this particular player a month or two ago when his brother or some other relative and friends got arrested.

Choice of friends is so critical to kids.

I watched a heart-breaking, depressing 20 20 Show last might about a boy and a girl hooked on drugs after a friend told them how cool drugs are.

I do not judge him for smoking Wee - come to think of it, I remember pretending to rake a hit off one joint being passed through the crowd at a rock concert.

I just hope he wasn't really out run by a police officer.

Hopefully the cops only caught one of his fat friends who then squealed like a pig till the other three were rounded up later.

We do not tolerate slowness at BYU
