This should be seperated into offensive, defensive, special teams coaching. How can I give Bronco an A for defense when Anae deserves D or F?

Agreed, I don't think we're grading on the won-loss record, but on the coaches. Defensively, we probably get a C+, offensively, we get a D-. The offense really can't get much worse. And I still fault the offensive brain trust, or non-brain trust if you will. I can't believe this is the best BYU can do offensively.

F - the coaches deserve most of the blame for this season. The 2 QB system, terrible D, and terrible O are all a result of weak coaching and not enough Bronco motivation and hands on teaching.

The whole two-QB load of crap still tastes just as sour in my mouth as it did during fall camp and the first few games of the season. It sucked. We're still suffering here in the aftermath of its suckiness. I don't know what the coaches were thinking. It was completely inexcusable, and has probably cost us one or two wins in the long run. It's also retarded the progress of the rest of our ENTIRE offense. One of the largest blunders in BYU football history.



On top of that, it's hard to give the coaches a good grade whenever Anae sucks so bad. Bronco is the only thing keeping me from giving the coaches an F. But even with Bronco there are many philosophies that I disagree with.



We get all this young talent, and what do we do? Waste nearly an ENTIRE season in terms of conditioning them and improving them.

I haven't seen such a poorly managed team and such anemic preparation and in-game play calling in the history of BYU football. We actually have threads where people (myself included) are saying they'd like to have Crowton back.



If we make a bowl game and Anae is fired after the season then I'll change this to a B.



If Anae is fired during the bye week I'll change it to an A.

And the only reason they got that, is because f-minus doesn't exist



Bronco used his "get out of jail free" card this year.

This is difficult, because no one hear knows what goes on in practice, so we really have an outsider view on personnel choices. What we see most clearly is game planning which has been incredibly poor, a seeming regression of a receiver corp, and high ranking players who aren't performing. I go with a D.

I voted D. Before the Jaime Hill firing, I would have voted F. If we can get a good OC in during the bye week, I'll change it to C. If we don't change during the bye week, we have a good chance to lose at least one of the so called gimmes and the U game for sure.



If we stay with the current coaches, I don't think we have a chance with the U, and we may get blown out worse than 2008. Unless Bronco gives Anae more help from other coaches with play calling.

Bronco deserves credit for finally getting on the ball with the defense but an f for letting the circus go on with the offense and him approving the two qb system which was the biggest factor in our lousy record.



anae suck, hill sucked, and the coaches have just done a horrible job putting these kids in a position to succeed. i give credit to bronco for inspiring players and getting the most out of them when he is working close to them and for recruiting well, but as a head coach is is just okay. he will never get us to the level whit has gotten utah to.



but everything he touches at a close level turns to gold. special teams were amazing. then goes to defense and within a week they are 1000 time better. he knows how to motivate and get everything out of his guys. but big picture wise an making the big decision, not so good.



i blame this season mainly on the coaches. i am happy to have bronco in there however. i trust he will get the ship righted. he is a great coach, just not on same level as peterson, whit and patterson. and i think that is okay. he is perfect for byu.

As a whole, I give a C+. We won the game, so that is good. The defense gets an A. Anytime you hold an opponent under 200 yards for a whole game, you get an A. Dominant peformance. gave up 2 decent drives all game. Played solid and aggressive, and got it done to seal the win.



The offense, however, I give a D. Started out great, but them got progressively worse. Perosnally, I blame the 2nd half play calling for much of it. BYU was playing to run the clock out in the 2nd half--and it showed. Anae panicked after Jake's poor pass, and the play calling showed. And I still hate the passing routes of guys in the Anae offense. Been on record with this for years. The spread is not the issue--the way Anae uses it is. Dude is scared of the middle of the field for pass plays, and has been for 6 years now. It is my biggest compliant of this offense by a mile. That and the check down RB rarely heads to the flat, instead going over the middle. Gotta mix it up.
