In my opinion, if you can win ugly against say...TCU, good things are on the horizon. Not Wyoming.

No... if you win ugly vs TCU you are probably the best team in the country... Not a crappy team improving ( WITH GOOD THINGS ON THE HORIZON)

there was lots of improvement today.



The other losses this year didn't bother me so much because we lost, but because the team didn't seem to be progressing.



As much beef as people are giving Heaps, I thought he looked better today. The RB's played well. The WR's played much better (but still need to improve). Special teams played well (save for a blocked FG). The defense continued to play very well.



We won AND our team showed improvement from last week. I'm happy for now.

We were 2-5 going into the game against Wyoming. Those of you who are looking for style points need to wake up and realize that we just are not that good this year. Besides, style points only start to matter when it comes to rankings, we could win the rest of our games, including against Utah, and we aren't going to be ranked. So who cares how we win?

I am happy that we won.

Yep, our run game and our defense won the game.

This is a good post. BYU is an average team this year the may not make it to a bowl game. Wyoming had our same record with nearly as tough of a schedule, I don't see how we think we should be dominating them. Any win is a good win for this team this year.

With 2 weeks to prepare for UNLV in Provo, I am going to go way out on a limb and predict a back-to-back ugly win. Hopefully we get healthy, work hard for 2 weeks, don't take anything for granted, and win. I remember sitting in the West bleachers a few years back with peers on a Marriot School Advisory Board and helplessly watching UNLV win ugly against a favored BYU team that struggled on offense much like we are now.



This year - BYU wins it.



Craig can put this prediction in his notebook and hold me to it. BYU wins 2nd game in a row for the first time since 2009 season.

I still think that BYU wins all the rest of their home games and lose both their road games. Unless BYU's defense can shut out CSU.

Way to go out on a limb.. ;) On the bright side, it'll be the 1st time you were right this season. (except it won't be ugly)

Over a 2-6 team???? Good things are on the horizon after an ugly win against one of the worst teams in football.....at home? I'd love to see the women you date with such low standards for being impressed.

You've seen the women I date; and I'm happy with the W... ;) Wyoming isn't one of the worst teams in football (they're also not world beaters) and it was less than a week ago that you (Snos) gave reasons why Wyoming might give us trouble.... Can't have it both ways.

Of all the NCAA schools, you know as well as i do that wyoming is not currently in the worst 20%.. UNM and UNLV are (sagarin and the rpi would back that up). They're still not good but they're not one of the worst... words and context matter... (you're the attorney, I'm not)



Of the 245 A or AA teams, Sagarin has UNM at 197, UNLV at 143, Wyoming at 90 (one behind Tennessee) and Colorado State at 111. (we're 73)



Wyoming is the best of this 4 game stretch...not good, but not the worst in college football

BYU is not a great team by any stretch this year, but some of you seem to be forgetting the fact that we've played four Top 25 teams, and another good team (Washington). With a schedule average in difficulty, I think we'd be sitting at 4-4 or maybe even 5-3.

Opening the first half of your season with games against Washington, Air Force, Florida State, Nevada, and TCU is not exactly a cakewalk.

We are an average team this year. Not good, not bad--just average. Our 6-6 record will further prove that point. Had Bronco taken over the D sooner, we might have got to 7-5, maybe 8-4. But the record might have hidden some truths. We are an average team. Luckily, we are young and have young talent to build off of. Seeing Texas and Florida both struggle with issues very similar to ours(QB and passing games) gives me perspective. Neither of those schools are playing true freshman QB, but both are playing highly recruited kids. And there is no argument that TExas and Floirda have better skill guys than us. Sometimes QB issues happen. This year we have them, but it is because our guy is not ready, through no fault of his own. But I still see enough ability there to hope some hope.
