What is the likelihood of:



Air Force upsetting TCU

Utah beating both Air Force and TCU but losing at San Diego State

TCU beating San Diego State

Byu beating Utah and ending up co-champions...or would it be co-co-co-co-champions of the MWC... and going to the LasVegas bowl. :D

Some of them could happen.



The chance of all of them happening: zero. Nada. Zilch.

How awesome would that be?

I'm not sure asking "what is the likelihood" qualifies as an optimistic post. Here's an optimistic post:



Guys, I'm calling my shots right now:

BYU beats Wyoming by 30 points.

Colorado State upsets Utah.

Air Force beats the #4 ranked TCU Horned Frogs.

And New Mexico gets either Utah or TCU too!

BYU beats Wyoming 7-0 after Jake Heaps completes a very deep TD pass to McKay Jacobsen and BYU shuts out the Pokes.

After a dissapointing loss to CSU takes BYU out of any apparent chance at Bowl eligibility - BYU upsets Utah to go 6-6 and avert a losing season like Lavell Edwards, Brandon Doman, and Luke Staley did in Lavell's last year.

Call me old school, but I think it would be great if Utah won out the rest of their season only to loose to the Cougars on Thanksgiving weekend by a nice 4th and 18 play. I also think it would be great if Utah would go to the Las Vegas Bowl next year. :P

If Utah makes it to a bowl game next year, they will be so beaten up by the time they get there, due to their schedule, that their lack of depth will show and they will break their long standing streak of winning bowl games.

that'd be quite the miracle... but it's not gonna happen. TCU is going to destroy Air Force. SDSU beating Yewtah is pretty unlikely, too - Yewtah's defense will hold them below 21 points.

Some might classify this more as delusional ;)



For me an optimistic post is that the Cougars score more than 21 points and beat WY by 10

hmmmmm.

I can't help but think BYU is going to absolutely destroy Wyoming. 4 TDs +

My optimistic post for this week is:



Receivers catch more than 3 passes this game, Heaps passes for more than 200 yards and at least 1 TD and BYU scores more than 24 points.



BTW I am predicting 27-13 BYU.

I got my MBA at Utah and I am happy to see them win every game but 1 every year - notwithstanding that - Utah is about, as BYU is also, to get introduced to what a little uptick in SOS can do to your W/L record. I am fully in agreement that BCS conferences are over-rated and that at the top, the MWC is very respectable.



I also know that playing Arizona, ASU, USC, UCLA, and Colorado and whatever northern PAC 12 teams Utah gets to play next year with BYU thrown in for good measure along with other decent teams the Utes have been playing OOC lately, produces a lot more opportnities to come up a little short, especially on the road, than playing NM, UNLV, Wyo, CSU, SDSU plus AFA, BYU, and TCU. It is difficult for teams like BYU, Utah, TCU, and even Air Force to ever have a losing conference record. SO, in the MWC, the big 3 or 4 just needed ot make sure OOC competitoin didin't do them in. It would be very possible to have a losing record in the PAC 12, and common to be 7-5.



Even if Utah has a 50/50 chance of winning every PAC 12 game - you end up 50/50. Utah will get beaten down playing those teams every week instead of once in a while. BYU will expereince the same thing as it beefs up its schedule - we are beaten up quite a bit right now irc.
