David Nixon Cut?

After having 9 tackles in a game, I think possibly the first game Nixon got any real minutes, he was cut from the Houston Texans. Anyone have any info on this? Why'd the cut him?

Houston LB David Nixon (BYU) had six tackles on defense, one tackle in kickoff coverage and two tackles in punt coverage in win over Chiefs — and then was released by the Texans on Tuesday.

What is that!?!?!?!?!?!?! Kinda crappy!!! Hope he lands on his feet - maybe in Az. w/ Max Hall.

I know my Colts could use some tackling!! It's been a frustrating year for Cannoncougar. Up until Bronco took over the defense both of my teams couldn't tackle a girl scout.

That's too bad. He has family in houston and is from Texas so I'm sure he enjoyed playing for the Texans. I'm sure he'll end up somewhere soon.

Apparently Nixon was picked up by St. Louis for their practice squad. Looks like he and Kehl are reunited.

My question is if this was done on purpose, out of ignorance or was just plain accidental. "Bringham Young" Made me snicker a little but kind of seems like something an web designer might try to get away with until someone called him out.

On a side note, I wonder how good a team of BYU's all-stars (to keep it at least somewhat realistic we'll limit it to guys who are currently in the NFL or who have had a chance but are still young enough to qualify) would do in the NFL. I think it could be pretty good... at least .500 anyway... maybe.

Again, not saying they would win the super bowl but I think they'd may be able to hold their own. You could easily scrap together an OL from the likes of Bright, Keele, Feinga, the Reynolds boys, etc. and fill in the rest with other BYU guys who never got a chance but were solid role players and have the makings of a team at least as good as the Bills anyway.



An owner could put a team like that together for pennies today if he wanted to and while it may not have the sexiest list of names on it, it would have a group of guys in the locker room of similar mindset and cohesion on the field.

I actually bought a hoodie once that said Bringham Young on it. The sad thing is, I didn't notice until after I'd worn it a few times. Yes, I still wear it.

I think they'd be lucky to win 2 games. The only true starters on the list are are Collie, Keisel, and Tahi. Everyone else are reserves or filling in for an injured starter. The closer interesting question is if the team of BYU NFL all-stars could consistently beat the top 5 NCAA teams.

Well, seeing how those five teams would have a higher payroll thus attracting "better" talent, I guess it would be very difficult for the BYU NFL all-stars to consistently beat them. :bug:
