Does Utah Have a Top 10 Program?

Because, I certainly don't hear any talk about them. It's amazing, they've got a great offense are trouncing everyone, are ranked in the top 10 of the first BCS poll and NO ONE talks about them. It's all-BYU all the time on local sports talk. Isn't it wonderful?

I'll take the top 10 ranking thanks.

Not saying I wouldn't trade rankings, but just further proves that BYU is THE top dog in the market. The Utes can't win. If they were reversed, it would still be all-BYU all the time. BYU moves the dial, Utah doesn't.

No one talks about them because outside of Utah BYU is the only "nationally known" program. Sad since they've had 2 BcS wins, but BYU is still remembered for decades of QBs and being the 1st Nat'l Champs outside of bigger conferences. In fact, in Big 12 country fans I've met could name Y players/coaches and had never heard of Yewts. I was very surprised by that but have come to understand it's very true.



The schedule has been so favorable it's ridiculous. Utah will get so much confidence by their easy wins that they'll play TCU like they are a top 10 team and will win. That's what drives Y fans crazy. Utah plays 2 good games a year that happen to be against BYU, TCU.



BYU is bad and Utah is good this year, but people aren't convinced by their 136th SOS. Which is around BSs SOS too right?



I think for BYU to stay close program wise we have to stop giving them our educated coaches.



I'm a TCu fan when those 2 meet, but as 2008 utes had it, they also have footholds and all the luck of the world with them so I expect them to sneak in. I'd also love to see them play Washington in the Vegas bowl and lose by a 2 point conversion on a run by Locker (the Heisman :lol: )

Well if their "program" is limited to leather helmets, the mid 90s and 2003-2010, then yes. Solid program.

Yet some variation of the theme is brought up here a couple times a week. Somewhat ironic I think.

Not sure they are this year, but they were in 2008 and 2004. I still think they are a product of an awful schedule and have not been tested yet. We would be 6-1 with that schedule. And we are sub par this year.

LOL, they played some bad teams but don't forget BYU is a terrible team right now. Plenty of FCS teams would handle us this season.

I can't be confident that we'd be 6-1 right now with an wholly FCS schedule. The team just isn't "executing" right now.

We lost to USU :sick: The cougs would not be 6-1 if they had Utahs schedule. I think this year the best they would be is 3-3.



BTW I dont give a pigs butt hole about the FrUtes from the north.

Top 10 maybe. Better than BYU this year..... sadly yes :~(

I thought about that same subject these last days as I open the SLTrib sports website and more than half of the time the top headliner is about BYU. I don't think they do that just to harass BYU as they realize that 1) there are more BYU fans than Utah; and 2) Utah fans still generally climb up on our back to try to feel good about themselves and have no self confidence still after all of these years and what success they have had.
