My biggest fear....

....is that the Cougs will win the next 4 games (and maybe even look good doing it) against teams that are really just as bad as we have been. Then we'll be bowl eligible, have some kinks worked out and may even have a good game against yewtah. We may even have a respectable bowl game. Not saying well win.

The problem with this is that if we make a bowl game there may be less pressure to make coaching changes to the offense after the season. I never hope the Cougs will lose, but I'm afraid if we start winning people may think everything is ok.

By the way, it drove me nuts when Crowton was coach when people on cougarblue would post about wanting us to lose just to drive Crowton out of town.

If we win or even dominate the next 4 opponents and then either beat utah or play well in a close loss and then win a bowl game, then I think Anae stays. Having said that, i don't think that the scenario above will work if Anae has lost control of his offensive staff and the team. In fact, I expect a loss against one of the next 4 patsies and a blowout against utah and a non bowl year. If that happens, there will be changes in the offensive staff.

If you listened/watched Bronco this morning you'll know that Bronco is perfectly happy with Anae. Expect no changes even with we go winless.

Just finished listening to Bronco's pressor, and I disagree. Bronco's comments about Anae today reminded me distinctly of his comments about Hill after the Nevada game. I think that Bronco is hesitant to make a change at OC because he is less comfortable with the offensive side of the ball. Always has been. That said, I'm sure he evaluates all aspects of the program each off-season, and he will see that there is no other choice after this year. It is one thing for players to perform poorly, because that can be coached up or the players can be replaced. But trust and attitude issues among coaches or between coaches and players (which appears to be a problem with our offense right now) can be solved in only one way: addition by subtraction.

That's pretty much exactly what he said preceding the firing of Hill.

Bronco doesn't tip his hand in press conferences. Continually surprised by how many times people believe he does. Bronco keeps his statements vague in nature on purpose. On person can interpret his comments to mean great changes are coming and another can interpret the same exact comments that no changes are coming.
