Time to start talking Wyoming...

anyone actually watched them play this year? I know I haven't.

I thought they were beginning to look like a somewhat decent team towards the end of last year, but any respect I had for them as a football program has pretty much died out this year. They've been pretty awful.

Wyoming sucks, we usually own them, it's in Provo... these are all things that would lead me to think BYU wins... but I just don't know whether or not I can predict a win and not feel like a homer. Yeah, this year has been that ugly.

Wyoming has played a very difficult schedule. They have played three teams that were in the top ten (Texas at the time was in the top 5, TCU, and Utah). One team that was in the top 25 (AFA). And, finally, they have beaten two really crappy teams (SUU and Toledo). I have watched them play quite a bit (only because my wife is a big pokes fan...ug), and they aren't quite as tough as they were last year. Yes we killed them, but I thought Wyo improved a lot last year, and even won their bowl game. I think this is a very winnable game this year, but it could be close if our Offense looks like it has all year long (almost feels like Crowton is back in town). That all being said, most of the Wyoming fans I know and have talked to see this as a very winnable game, and sadly, BYU hasn't really given any evidence to prove them wrong. I give a distinct edge to BYU because the game is in Provo, and generally BYU owns them there. However, BYU's offense has to do something!! But, that issue has been discussed ad nauseum.

This is a big game for both teams. Loser goes 2-6 and has to win out to be bowl eligible. So I expect Wyoming to come strong. Them having lost to Utah, Boise State, Texas, AFA and TCU are not bad losses at all. But they did barely beat SUU 28-20, so we should handle them. Espeically with how our D has looked recently. We shut down their run and they throw it worse than us.

One positive is we're at home. Jake has had two games where his rating was above 100. Both were at home.

Jake's rating on the road: 75.79

Jakes rating at home: 100.92

Jakes rating in our two home wins: 105.75

Predictions on Jake's rating versus Wyoming and TD:Int ratio? I'm going with 112 (decent improvement) and 1:1

I think he will be in the 130 range, I suspect 1 TD pass, 0 ints and we will run it like 45 times, pass it maybe 25. Ground out a win like 27-10.

Am I cocky/delusional to think our defense, the way it's been playing, can pitch a third consecutive shutout of Wyoming?

If there's one thing I've learned about BYU's defense in recent years, it'd be that it's extremely unpredictable and inconsistent.

Take last year for example: After the Oklahoma and Tulane games, I thought we had one of the best defenses in the country. By the end of the year, I thought we had a below average defense at best. Even the teams that we beat usually scored more than they should have.

So yes, the D has looked much better lately, but I won't be shocked at all if they show up on Saturday and allow Wyoming to put up 35 points.

I'm betting this is one of those games...

BYU Offense will score 4 TDs 1 in the air. JH will have 2 INTs (both WR faults)-Ashworth: quits on ball, Jacobson: quits on ball. Which leads me to remind all: Why is LA playing? Uggh.

BYU Defense gives up 3 TDs in first half. Shuts them out 2nd half. And BYU will win by a TD.

I'm not watching the game either way since it's on the Mtn and won't be online.
