I've never seen such terrible playcalling!!!!! and risking a fumble at the end of the half??????? Running draws even tho they dont work???? 1 play out of the i?????

I am tired of watching his horrible scheme get totally shut down by TCU. Tired of his inability to prepare his offense properly to move the ball vs. this team. I am tired of his ridiculous lack of plays where BYU attacks the middle with pass plays. Go watch some old Detmer film, some Young or McMahaon. BYU attacked team up the middle with eh passing game, and Anae will not. And running out the spread sucks, and when we go power I we have success, yet we do it 1 series the whole 1st half and it gets us a 1st down. then what? We do not do it again.



Higgins needs to go with him. Our receivers have not improved all eyar, can not separate, run crap patterns, and simply do not make plays. If the defense can make such huge strides with a coaching change--so can the offense.



I am sick of Anae ball. It must end now. 14 pts vs TCU in 10 quarters is simply awful.

for a second I thought we could try mixing it up with some trick plays. then I remembered who our offensive coordinator was. the man has no sense of creativity, whatsoever.

yeah the play calling is frustrating but this bunch of athletes reminds me of the teams of Rod Wilkerson and Brett Engeman. No athletes, no game breakers.. just a bunch of guys from the BYU 146th ward elders quorum playing turkeyday ball up on 9th east. These guys are below average for sure.

I agree that the offensive coaching is a problem, but I think everyone has overestimated the talent level too. There is not a single gamebreaker on the offense.

What frustrated me with this game was the coaches HAD to realize what our strengths were against the TCU D - you know, the EXACT SAME THING WE DID ALL GAME AGAINST SDSU! And it took them until halftime to decide to line up in the I and shove the ball down tcu's @$$. And what happens in the 2nd when we decided to finally do it? We have our only good drive of the game. And then after it works, they go away from it again! I'm sick of watching us try to run out of shotgun! Line up in the freaking I, run the ball 50+ times a game, let our O linemen lean on the D all game long, throw in a PA pass every now and then to keep the D honest (I love that little PA dump to Hague out of the BF). THAT should be our O until we are ahead by 21 points, and THEN the O can work on the passing game.



Here's to 200+ rush yards per game for the rest of the season...(oh, wait Anae is still our OC...never mind).

With the build of our traditional O Linemen (freaking huge but not super athletic) we should be a north/south, between the tackles run team. It pisses me off to see us trying to run around the ends on 3rd and 4th and short. And it REALLY chaps my hide to see a pass (and int) in 1st and goal from the 3.



We should just mow over the top of Wyo, CSU, UNM, UNLV and :utard: . But we won't (we'll get "Anaed" in at least one of those games).

We go 4-1 from here on out. I also expect Bronco to weigh in on the offense and tell Anae t play more ball control power football. This is not BYU 1980's. We are a power run team, need to embrace it, and need to deal with it.



The D has raised it's game. Time for the O to do it. Bronco needs to set the tone with them as well, even if not running the O. Get them tougher.

Jacobsen, and I have long been a Jacobsen fan, is a disapointment this year. He is great when BYU has lots of weapons, but he has not been able to carry the team on his back while the tight ends come along. Chambers was hoped to be great by many, but unlike Jacobsen who showed signs of greatness as a freshman, O'Neil hasn't proven it on the field yet. Hoffman looked good early - but he is a freshman iirc, and seems to have caught the dropsies. The tight ends are all freshmen. Our inability to hurt teams up the middle with TEs is the biggest problem we have right now. There is not an NFL talent receiver on this team. Their might be an NFL talent tight end - but too inexperienced. There might be an NFL level talent QB - but too inexperienced. There is not an NFL level talent RB or FB unless it is one of the too inexperienced freshmen. We have one NFL level talent O/L and maybe that is all. Talent without experience is a lot like not having any talent.



Back to my point. Which current BYU players seeing playing time do you think will ever play in the NFL and for those few, how many years are they away from being ready to do that? Heaps in 3 or 4 years maybe, Reynolds in a year or two, WHO ELSE BOYS?. Then count how many players from last year went straight to the NFL, nearly made the NFL, or were otherwise great (Scotty Johnson for instance). Hall, Pitta, Unga, George, Manase, Johnson, etc.....plus Reynolds who will eventually go and maybe a lineman I have forgotten about.



That is what is wrong with this team on offense for sure and, to a lesser extent, on defense too.

In other words, this team is just a mediocre team without leaders. No one has come out and completely elevated their game. Sadly I have to agree.
