the defense would have to play out of their minds, and the offense would have to play completely free of any mistakes. No dropped passes, no fumbles, and no interceptions from Heaps. I think we'll very possibly cover the spread IF we see the jump in performance we did from Utah State to SDSU, but winning... well, I'd be surprised.

We're going to need both a UCLA 2008 gameplan and level of execution to win.

Would a BYU victory here be the biggest win in terms of spread ever? I can't ever remember being a 30 point underdog. It would send a shock wave that would take the T out of TCU

I have a hunch we're going to see the offense come more alive in this game, partly because they must, and partly because they've played six games, Heaps is getting better, JJ's getting better, and the receivers cant' get any worse--so they have to get better too.



It will take a complete game by everybody, offense, defense, special teams, kickers, coaches--but BYU can win this game.

I have to admit, I'm surprised by this prediction, but it did get me thinking. I think I understand where McGregor is coming from on this. I had previously thought that BYU went into the last two TCU contests with the attitude that they were playing NOT to lose, rather than pulling out all the stops to win. But, as Gary Patterson himself has said, "the last time BYU came here with a chip on their shoulders, they beat us." That was 2006, and BYU went to Ft Worth with attitude and ferocity then; we all saw it. Perhaps this time, we have little to lose and on top of that, a new fire in the belly. Go crazy, Cougars. Bring it on.
