Anyone tried 3D?

I gotta admit, sounds intriguing. Has anyone seen a game in 3D before? I'd be interested in what you thought of it. Seems like its just in its infancy right now, but I could see this becoming pretty big. Who wouldn't want to watch games in 3D?

Frankly, I think the whole 3d thing is over rated. I saw Avatar in 3d and it was pretty cool but I have no desire to put on a pair of glasses just to watch tv. I won't be interested in 3d until it is a holographic image on my coffee table.

I hope the 3d fad dies out soon. Overrated IMO.

well, I dont believe it will die because there has been 3dtvs introduced that do not require 3d glasses to watch, the technology will come to US consumers in the coming years

Have you read the reviews on that technology? You have to sit within 2 ft of the screen and you can't be at more than an 8 degree angle for it to work. So basically it's only feasible for laptops and the horribly myopic.

I viewed a bit of soccer 3D and I've watched a 3D movie at a TV store



Definitely not worth it for me. You have to pay for so many things it got ridiculous. In fact, I didn't even have an initial wow factor. I thought: ummm, okay I'm good.

I've got the new samsung 3D TV and I think it's pretty cool. 3D is not going away and is the next step in TV IMHO. What needs to happen is the glasses need to come down in price.

Regular TV in 3D just looks like it has more depth. The 3D movies on the other hand have things that pop out at you and really look cool.

As far as Football in 3D I think they would need to have some specialized camera angles for it to look really good. They also would need some built in electronics on the football so the camera's could track it better than the regular camera guy.

Seeing as I have some sort of eye condition, I am yet to see what 3D looks like. I guess something like 15% of the population has a similar problem as me so the whole 3D thing is beginning to really piss me off! Especially when movies I want to see in theatres will no longer be played in 2D. It has happened to me once so far I admit but I'll be really mad if it happens again

Maybe Kwitts wife would reach from the TV and grab your cell phone. That would suck.

I can't wait until they get the 3-d glassesless larger then 15in TV's. I think it is Toshiba that is coming out with the pre-Christmas glassesless TV's but they are very small ( I think 10" and 15" screens). But IMO I am excited about it. Go to bestbuy and watch the demo. You will be floored. You can see why the DB doesn't just reach out and grab the guy, or how close the fieldgoal really is. I believe it has much less to do with the traditional "It's coming right for us, blam! blam!" idea and more to do with the depth perception of the action on the field. It is really something to have that depth perception in the game. It was just plain cool!



BTW I was against 3-D before I was for it (:)) refusing to even consider going to a 3-d movie. So mark me down to buy one in about 5 years when they have the technology down pat.

It's funny you say that about the 5 years thing because supposedly Hollywood is going to make a men in black 3 movie but they want to wait a few years for the technology to get even better. And again I just wish I could see 3D things... :(
