"Duh" Moments with Professors?

Professors are supposedly intelligent people, but sometimes the things they do make me wonder. Figured it'd be fun to discuss some of the extremely stupid things professors do sometimes.



Just opened by typical reading/note taking assignment for one my classes. 40 small print pages which the professor (or more likely a student aid) scanned into a small window... WITH THE TEXT READING VERTICALLY AS OPPOSED TO HORIZONTALLY.

And we have to take extensive and formatted TYPED notes, they can't be written.



So basically - I am expected to tilt my head 90 degress (or put my laptop completely on its side - right) and read smallprint sentence by sentence - all while continually readjusting my head/laptop to pull up my Microsoft Word window and record what stuck in my mind? For 40 pages? Yeah... that's not happening.



If I put the amount of effort into my studying and assignments that was put into making this assignment, I'd be failing miserably.

Work smarter, not harder. Take screenshots of the pages and then rotate them.

Well that explains a few things ;)



After some searching I found a page where I could download the file. Opened w/ Adobe, rotated counterclockwise - done deal. But as a professor you'd think one might be mindful of the fact that they may have several students who don't know how to do that sort of thing.

I teach a class at BYU, so should I do something really stupid/cruel to my students just so I can post it in this thread? Scratch that, I've probably done enough stupid things this semester alone that I could come up with something to post pretty easily.
