BYU Tight Ends need to man-up

Here is a list of the tight ends on BYU's roster:

Is there no star among this group? 7 freshmen and 1 junior, seems odd we have 7 freshmen and no experienced older TEs (I don't believe Edwards has played). BYU's offense relies heavily on strong TE play--and it's ridiculous that we don't have a TE who is able to play this position with success.

TE's did have their best game of the year last night, for what it's worth.

Also shows how hard it is to make a REAL impact on a team loaded with inexperienced freshman. Sure you can plug one or two in and have them look like all-stars, but it's another story entirely to rely on freshman to pull 1/2 the load. Too much inexperience playing at once and it's a recipe for disaster, in large part because they have no cohesion.

Still, I would think that a new QB, and WRs that can't get open, and no double teaming the TEs, that the TE should be able to get free and make some catches, make some first downs, keep the drives going, and get into the endzone. I say, the TE is the key to this young, growing offense.

Who coaches the TE position? Robert Anae. Time for him to go and take Ashworth with him.

I too have had enough with Anae and his absolute predictability. But I'll give him a few more weeks to surprise me.

Do you think So'oto could help us at tight end. He was not good enough to beat out Pita but he did make a few catches. He can't go both ways but he might help in certain situations.

Maybe George should have redshirted last year so that he could be the starter this year? It might have help propel him into the NFL

I believe missing out on TE like we had last year have hurt our offense seriously.
