My Silver Linings

I'm not going to read the threads from last night. I imagine they're somewhat dire and depressing. I've always said that I stand by my team, and while I will criticize short-comings, I try to find silver linings. Here are some from last night:



- There were more drops last night than against Nevada. This is a silver lining because last week Jake was just missing receivers. Last night, he was actually putting the ball in a position for a play to be made.



- We finally scored a TD in the second half - two in fact.



- Punt game was solid - nearly 50 yards of net on each punt.



- Jacobson was involved in the offense - eight catches, a career high.



- We scored on all three of our red zone chances.



- We kept our heads against a hostile crowd and hostile, undisciplined team. USU had 12 penalties and multiple cheap shots - but we didn't respond in kind.



- Jake looked poised for his first road start in a very hostile environment.



- We're not defined by who we're not. My favorite, tasteless shirts had to have been the "BUCK FYU." I'm so glad we don't have a rival that controls how we behave and we do anything we can to not be them.



- 10 different receivers caught passes.

- No fumbles.

-Rich didn't break his neck.

-The team maintained quiet dignity on the field, especially toward Borel, and respected his right to privacy.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry after reading this. Oh, and where was the TIC?

Pass protection was good. We had one QB sack I think.
