Aggie Fans are Pioneers

I was in attendance for the last BYU game that was played in Logan. It was a game that BYU led the entire time and it wasn't ever close. But then something momentous happened. It was the 4th quarter and the game was well in hand but USU scored their 2nd touchdown of the night. Well the crowd went crazy! And as one body the Aggie fans rose up and started chanting "OVERRATED! Clap, clap, clapclapclap. OVERRATED! Clap, clap, clapclapclap." They did so to try and taunt BYU.



Now I say they are pioneers, and they are. The reason is that they are the very first fanbase in the history of the world to do the "Overrated" chant while losing. Lots of fans had done it before but that was always while beating a better opponent. Not USU though. They did it while losing.



So I salute you Mr. Aggie fan. You, and only you, are brave enough to break those chains of common sense that were holding you down. You, and only you, had the courage to take that little thought inside your head that said "Think this through..." and cast it aside.



Bravo, Mr. Aggie fan. You are truly a pioneer.

I think it's time to switch this series to a consistent 2-1. We'll still play them and give them ESPN exposure but from LES.

...So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, Mr. seeker of the silver lining. In the end you'll still be less than mediocre, and you'll still be chanting.

This was the most bizarre thing ever... I remember watching on TV, and being like, am I really hearing this?

My favorite things about that game were: 1) The dude who, after the Aggies scored their first TD, held up a sign that said, "we're better than UCLA!" and 2) The dude who had their sign ripped up by the security guard because it said, "__ BYU"

Most bizarre moment in history....



I remember watching it and having a total matrix moment. Like is anything real? Should I take the red pill, or the blue one? Or both?

I felt like i was in the twilight zone - I started to get confused and rub my eyes so I could see if I was reading the scoreboard right. In hindsight, that game was a pre-tremor to what became the TCU disaster.

Oh, more thing. When the wooden marbles started chanting overrated, the BYU fans (who made up the majority of the sell out) chanted right back, "Riley Nelson!" (would we do so now?)

Don't forget the shirts that the most of the students had that said "YBU." Why be us? Oh, that is right, because we beat you in all(or at least most) sports every year.

We should rearrange their letters to SUU. Now there's and insult!! :lol:

USU + SUU < BYU

When you wake up every morning in freezing A$$ logan and it takes every ounce of self control to not shoot yourself in the face, losing to BYU by less than usual is almost a win.

This is perhaps my favorite post ever on CC. It adequately summarizes the stupidity of our rivals



Another favorite moment was when i saw a yewt fan on TV holding a sign that said "BYU independence = No one likes U" during their game against PITT this year. It was their first game of the season and instead of preparing a sign to taunt their then ranked opponent, they expressed their deep obsession with us. I love the stupidity.

All I remember about that game was my butt kept falling asleep because those cheapos never bothered putting seats in the end zone. Who has cascading cement slabs gracing their stadium?



On a positive note, they do sell coke zero on tap. :D
