Another Austin Collie Thread

Love this guy! Has all the potential in the world and everything is lined up for him to be the best BYU-produced NFL player since Steve Young IMO.

A couple other interesting tid-bits:

* Of Austin Collie’s 171 receiving yards, 79 were gained after the catch.

* Peyton Manning to Austin Collie has yielded ridiculous numbers this season. On 32 targets, Manning’s connected with Collie on 27 passes for 11.2 yards per attempt with four touchdowns and a passer rating of 153.0.

I've heard he actually talks about the Church a lot with his NFL teammates. Good for Collie.



His little brother (Dylan) has an offer from Utah already. I'm not sure if BYU has officially offered yet or not.

Utah stands as much chances as getting little Collie as they do Nick Emery or anyone related to Max Hall... Also right now, Dylan is quite a bit behind where Austin was developmentally, but still worth a scholarship and a worthy legacy player.

I think you're spot on with both comments. He's certainly not the best WR on his high school team, but there's potential. Even Zac Collie made the NFL... for a few days.

For those curious, using the college rating formula, Manning's rating would be 220.55 when throwing to Collie.



BYU has only had 12 games since 2000 with a rating over 200 and only two with a rating over 220. BYU is undefeated in those games scoring an average of 51 points in those games.



So here's the rule again: win the passer rating war and you likely win the game. Have a very high rating and you score a LOT of points.
