Graham Rowley to lose RS--2011 class perspective

Due to the Fuga injury, Bronco said that Graham Rowley will lose his RS this year and will play. Said he will probably move Eathyn Manumaleuna to NT, which opens up the DE spot for Rowley. Which also means Travis Tuiloma and Tayo Fabuluje still get RS year, unless we lose another guy. Let's hope Fuga can get an injury exception and not lose a year from this injury. And let's hope Jordan Afo can qualify for next year, because we clearly need more depth on the D line.



Early fall camp 2 deeps had Rowley listed as #2 at DE. I think the kid will be ready to play. With Bryson playing more, we could very well see a NT that is a soph, and 2 DE's that are freshman. We also have a couple other freshman that could play if needed. Point being, we lack depth and experience on the D-line right now, and it is the reason we have so many D and O lineman on this recruiting class for 2011. With missions and injuries breaking the way they did, we got thin on the lines, especially D line. I think recruiting is addressing this for the future.



Anyone else wondered what happened to Putnam and So'oto for this year. Been less impact guys than I expected for this year.

So'oto has been a disappointment. I can think of only once or twice this season when he actually got to the QB. He doesn't get any pressure on the QB, something we were all hoping for. I am not sure how much Putnam has played, but haven't seen his name called much. Still, nobody get pressure on the QB, maybe they aren't supposed to? I don't know what the scheme and coaching is, but I can't recall many blitzes either, so Locker, Jefferson, Ponder and Kapernick basically have all the time they want to throw. We can't beat anybody this way, and we can't stop drives without a couple of knockout sacks along the way.

Except for Locker. We beat him that way.

My issues with the lack of pressure is that there were many times when coverage was great was a long period, but the added time gave receivers that extra edge needed to get open, and the QB plenty of time to find them. Had normal pressure occurred, we'd have had some coverage sacks this year. But they push up front has been really lacking. Second year in a row, actually.

I noticed a few times in the last couple games (not Nevada though) where So'oto got past the line to rush the quarterback. Unfortunately, he was too slow and the quarterback just ran away from him and made a play anyway.

no pressure this year unless we bring the house, and the only sacks have been coverage sacks.



Can't say the same for our line. I would have expected just the opposite coming into this year.

So'oto has been getting through...but just like you said, they've been getting away. We're just playing one very mobile quarterback after another...
