BYU FB #5 SoS

Sagarin has BYU's current strength of schedule ranked as #5 in the country (#4 if you don't count AA Tennessee Tech). Who's ahead of us? New Mexico, Wyoming, and North Carolina. It's like we're a bad team that opens every season playing its "payday" games, but instead we were legitimately hoping to win any/all of them.



I think we better get used to it too if we're planning on making this independence thing work, the early strength of schedule I mean, not the losing.

If they had a SOOQB (strength of oposing QBs) stat we'd be #1.

I think what this is called is perspective. we'd be 3-0 with the Ute schedule as well.



Just in Saturday, and it sorts itself out.

utah's sos just got even worse. before pitt was exposed (note utah didn't manage to expose them) it was ranked like 96th I think.



our defense is better than we think it is. Once our offense gets clicking our defense is going to do what it needs to to help us win games. It sure would be great if we could squeak out wins in the next three games. That would really put us in a good place. Utah is overrated.

also of note is nevada's strength of schedule... 115th!! They are 3-0 at home and have a horrible strength of schedule. I'm nervous about the game but I feel confident in our guys ability to win at home.

After what I've seen the last two games... I can't help but agree with you! Our D against the run STINKS! I had my hopes up preseason that our D was gonna carry us through, but it's the D that's let me down!

Why did u expect so much more from the D? Front 7 are almost all new or switching positions. Free Safety, a key cog is new. Other than the other DBs, Pendleton, and a nose guard that has been asked to switch positions - What did you think was going to carry this team - especially considering how much we have historically relied on good and experienced linebackers and defensive ends.



So now I hear complaints about defending the corners - DEs - and assasinating the free safety - new - and slow linebackers. What a surprise.



DB, Special Teams, OL, and receivers were supposed to carry this team. OL, especially. OL other than week 1, for health reasons and swapping positions reasons, has disappointed. Receivers have disappointed all three weeks. Punting in week 2 was horrible - but great in weeks 1 and 3. DBs, other than the new safety, have been nearly as good as expected - but now injuries are maybe going to be a factor.
