A star player on Bingham High School’s nationally ranked football team has played this season while facing first-degree felony charges of aggravated robbery, stemming from an April incident.



Viliseni “Seni” Fauonuku, 17, is accused of holding five teens at gunpoint and stealing two of their wallets last spring in the garage of a West Jordan home, according to court records.

Hope the kid turns his life around. Sad to have it go so horribly astray so early.

Surprise, surprise. And yes, Sam is Harvey's older brother and a one-time BYU recruit before he started getting off the path. There are rumors that Harvey is not far from following in his older brother's footsteps. It would seem he's no longer the BYU fit he once was. It might be wise for BYU to move on and use Harvey's scholie for someone else if they haven't done so already.

I don't know what the hold up is on suspending him (pun intended). He admitted to the police he did what he did. I would think an admission of guilt is enough to warrant some punishment by the HC. A good lawyer could string out his hearing until football season was over, then where is the threat of discipline by the coach?



Take a stand Coach, there is a cloud over this kid, letting him play is coddling him IMO.

Being in the pac-10 requires a certain demographic and expectation of people to be atheist, anti-american, gay (preferred) or at least gay friendly, and/or have a resume of criminal activity.



Utah is getting the best players as far as they are concerned.

I've never lived in Utah my entire life, but it seems from what I've seen/read/heard from others that West Jordan is a pretty rough area. Yes? No?

I've lived here most of my life and never, ever thought of West Jordan as a rough area. It's right up there with Draper, Sandy, Riverton, South Jordan, etc. fairly affluent area. Anything near Ogden (the armpit of Utah) is pretty bad, West Valley is bad, but I don't think West Jordan is. Maybe I've missed something.

West Valley and West Jordan are two completely different worlds. WJ seemed alright.

It's a tough situation: you don't want to reward poor behavior or let this terrible thing go unaccounted for, but at the same time you'd rather have him on the field where you can be a positive influence and where he's spending his time doing something positive. I'd say a suspension from some games is in order, but let him know he's expected to be at practice every day.

I hear what you are saying but this was ARMED ROBBERY..and he admitted to it..The message: if you are a good enough football player and needed enough on the Bingham team, ARMED ROBBERY: No problem we can ignore it and play on..Horrible horrible message for this team to be learning

Oh yeah, I agree, I don't condone the lack of action from the coach AT ALL. I would have had him sitting for the first half of the season (at least) and ALLOW him to prove that he regrets what he's done by his attitude, work ethic, grades, and extra service (along with whatever the court gives him). But, if you just cut these kids loose, it's not going to get any better for them.

Seems the only reason he got suspended was because the story finally went public. I think even a 2 game suspension is insufficient, personally.

Two games for armed robbery? Are you kidding me? What a joke. Thank goodness it wasn't manslaughter or some other violent crime--that might have set him back four games...I hear Blount wants to transfer to Bingham High
