Anyone would be an upgrade for NM and the MWC. The guy they have is a disgrace and should have been fired after punching one of his assistants. I was really suprised when they retained him after what he did last season, and NM only looks worse.

I believe he was kept because they would have to pay for him anyway - it was a money decision for a school that is strapped.

Love it! I REALLY hope this works out. If it does, UNM wins the MWC the first time BSU has to play in ABQ, no question. It's just a shame BYU et al won't be in the conference any more.

Why in the world would Leach want to leave TT for UNM? Less humidity? Higher altitude to air it out a few more inches? This is bogus.

I'm pretty sure 'want' didn't have anything to do with Leach leaving TT. ;)

Because it's a team willing to hire him.

What a downgrade for him. I don't think i would touch that job with a 10 foot pole. why not just come to byu as an offensive coordinator :)

Couldn't tell if you were joking and didn't know that Leach had been fired at TT after the 2009 season and was working for CBS College Sports Network as an analyst.

Leach has not been the coach at TT for a year or so...Leach does not have a job coaching right now...a job coaching would be a step up from not having a job coaching...probably would pay more than his job for CBSCTV.

I have a problem with Leach coming to BYU. I don't think it would be a good cultural fit. That is half of the equation. I would encourage an interview if the position was open though. Things might have changed for him.

No amount of locking up injured players in closets could make New Mexico not suck.
