Missing Person last seen making plays in the 2009 season:

McKay Jacobson

Wide Receiver

5-11, 190, Jr.

Southlake, TX / Southlake Carroll HS

Earned letterman honors as a sophomore ... started nine games at wide receiver ... started the first four games before suffering a hamstring injury, forcing him to sit out the next four games ... Academic All-MWC ... totaled 556 yards and four touchdowns on 23 receptions ... averaged 24.2 yards per catch, ranking No. 4 in the nation among receivers who averaged at least one catch per game and No. 3 among receivers with as many yards as him ... caught the game-winning touchdown in BYU's season opener against No. 3 Oklahoma ... recorded a season-high 111 yards receiving against Florida State, including an 80-yard reception ... recorded two punt returns ... averaged 13 yards on three kick returns.

If you are a BYU quarterback and have seen this receiver, please get him the ball. If you are an offensive coordinator for BYU, please get him the ball.

During fall camp, a player I know told me that Mackay had bulked up, and it looked like he had lost a step or two ... right now it's looking like 3 or 4 steps were lost, and his hands, he misplaced those also.

Also putting out an APB for any "Tight Ends".

In case you have forgotten what a Tight End is...

Dumb. A WR so rarely needs to "bulk up" as it just kills the careers of those who do. Speed is needed first and foremost then you need to worry about getting off the line or taking hits. I remember when my Rams drafted Torry Holt but passed on David Boston. Holt was a wiry kid but he could get behind DB's all day and get open. I recall reading that after Boston's first year he came back looking like a bodybuilder having put on 20 pounds of muscle. Problem is all that extra mass took a toll on his speed and he quickly became irrelevant in the league.

McKay was targeted 6 times against FSU, for only 1 catch. He needs to get up off of his knees and stop blowing his opportunities.

I thought MJ had a big game recently - USU maybe.

Anybody got his YTD stats?

You've got real issues LOL! Really, I laughed out loud sitting here all by myself. That's funny stuff...

I don't care how fast, how tall, how "good" a receiver is, when he drops balls, he's not worth much. I lost a lot of respect for Jacobson and other receivers last year when they were all just dropping passes all over the field--and I felt for Heaps too, he'd hit those receivers right on the numbers and they'd drop em, Jacobson had a few too. BYU made its reputation with slow, white receivers who just always got open, and never dropped passes (well, almost never). I don't know what Jacobson's issues are, maybe there are none, but he has disappeared from the offense, for the most part. He did catch the long, come back pass from Nelson in the USU game. Has he had a catch the last two games?

Jacobsen needs to stop pissing and moaning to the coaches after every single play.

I , after every play he muffs you'll see him over at the sidelines arguing with a member of the coaching staff.

The guy you play for is in at qb, McKay... still not happy?

DO NOT get him the ball, he is missing for a reason. He is simply not good... sorry, but if you find him don't get him the ball or playing time

In the offseason he was asked to play slot, no? So it makes sense that he'd bulk up for a position where you have to out-muscle rather than out-run your opponent.

Unfortunately, that slot position hasn't been used much. He's been splitting time with Falslev at slot and flexed wide at other times, which doesn't fit into his current skill set.

Not excusing drops, and I have a hard time believing sometimes that he's the same kid that caught a touchdown pass around a defender's helmet his freshman year a la Ben Cahoon, but inconsistency in coaching and strategy seems to also be playing a role in his inconsistency in production.

That's because he's not the same kid... that kid was abducted by aliens invading Japan and replaced by an android who's missing the hands and toughness modules.
