This is why we lost

This probably has to be the worst attitude/idealogy coming into a game:



“The intent was to rotate every other series, and then see how the game was going and see what their defense lent to in terms of having an advantage,” BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “They weren’t bringing a lot of pressure. They stayed with four-man rush, and usually that lends to being able to throw the ball, and find seams and holes in the zone. So that had a lot to do with why we stayed with Jake.”

So, rather than looking at tape, assessing the strengths/weaknesses of your opponent and putting together a game plan. Bronco and company opted to show up game day, flip-flop QBs and based on how the competition reacted pick a QB. Am I the only one that finds this idea completely counter productive? Essentially, Bronco indirectly let FSU pick the quarterback. Couldn't he have come to the same conlcusion from watch game-tape of FSU?
