bballI always believe in BYU, and I always hope that major improvement occurs from week to week...but...I'm not very confident that our offense (or defense) is a a point that will give us a chance to win today. And after watching Nevada just destroy Cal, I'm not sure we can beat Nevada--even at LES. The only teams that can play with Nevada, are teams that can score lots of points (like Boise), and BYU's offense is simply not there yet, and may not be by next week.
Plus, Utah State is definitely improved, have a mature QB and offense, and we have to play them in Logan. Throw in the fact that USU is going to vent all their pent up frustrations against BYU, and they have us at their place--and they are going to play out of their heads.
Now, if BYU can somehow come to life offensively and defensively, and beat FSU, we may have a chance against Nevada and USU. Still, I think we're going to be 1-4 after the USU game. BYU has some major growing up to do, in a big hurry. BYU, at this stage, must play smarter and better than everybody they play; no dropped passes, none; no fumbles, none, no missed tackles. And the defense has got to help out this young offense and score some points--something they don't do much of.
