Nevada has looked impressive all year so far (I know... because we're so far into it... but still).



BYU has a lot to work on if we want to beat these guys. This game won't be a walk in the park as some have suggested it will be.

He's out with a bone bruise in his leg (originally thought to be an ACL tear), may be back for BYU. Another safety's starting now.



Cal trails 14-24 at halftime. 136 yards to 298.



The Bears' RB has 93 rushing yards on 9 carries though. Nevada has a great offense, but their Run D appears to be lacking.

A classic BYU team would beat Nevada in a shoot-out. This year's team has no O so unless we think the D is up to the challenge that's going to be an ugly game too...although it is at home so maybe we have a chance.

Cal starts off the 2nd half with a long TD drive.

21-31 now, 3rd quarter.

Cal has another long drive, again almost all on the ground, but settles for a field goal. Down 24-31 in the Third now. Cal's offense is gaining rushing yards easily enough to be winning this one, but their QB has thrown 2 INTs, and their D isn't stopping Nevada much at all.



The Cal RB is up to 16 rushes for 189 yards now, or almost 12 yards per carry running the ball with the same player almost every down. Nevada has absolutely NO rush defense. BYU needs to run JJ 40 times against these guys.



Keep in mind, Cal beat Colorado, what, 52-3? And Colorado beat Colorado State, what, 24-3? CSU is awfully bad, and Nevada's offense is awfully good. #1 in the nation after week 2 in fact.

We're gonna have a touch game on our hands in a week. And we have a tough game on our hands already tomorrow!

Nevada reminds me of an Air Force team that passes the ball much better and also has greater "big play" potential on the running game. BYU has to prove a lot tomorrow for me to not think that we very well could lose against UNR. Let's see what adjustments the coaches have made this week..



PS - I will say THIS. If Nevada wins this game and then wins next week, it will be a pretty exciting beginning to their season and they may even be ranked... which makes me think it would be OH so much more sweet to beat them in Provo and crush their BCS dreams for this year.
