Will BYU Cover the Spread @ FSU?

Only 8 points - maybe word got out about Heaps throwing 13 TDs in practice last week. The spread used to be double digits. I really have no idea how we will fare. But our young team on the road in that environment, playing jet-lagged - I am very worried.

I'm a little worried playing on the road at FSU as well. It's a loud crowd and could be intimidating to the younger players. I am not worried about the jet-lag though. Kick off is 1:30 pm BYU time and they will have had a full nights rest. It's not like they are playing at Hawaii with a 10 pm Mountain time kickoff.

I say we cover. I think we dropped the ball on game prep for AF. I suspect that came about due to looking forward to FSU. From the other side, I think that FSU does not respect us this time around, because of what happened last year. BYU was their big target then, but now the tables are turned. Things could come together (more Heaps playing time, better utilization of Cougar RB's and TE's etc) in time for FSU's under-developed defense to be overwhelmed. I am not sure how our defense will perform against them, but I do like the Cougars' offensive match up this week. Although I would not bet on a win for us, I do believe the odds are close to 50 percent favorable. I do not expect any repeat of last week's embarassment.

Boid, I gotta give you some credit--that's alot of faith in our team. But you are wrong about BYU looking past AF. that was not just coach-speak that Bronco was throwing out there. BYU got their hats handed to them by a fired up and focused AF.

Jimbo will have kicked some players butts and BYU is still spoon feeding our young guys and trying to rebuild their confidence. FSU +30. THis game will not be close, sorry to say. I will cheer for our guys, but I am patient enough to know they are still young and still not even close to capturing a rhythm offensively. We had rhythm and MO last year (and a big head) and still we were dominated last year on our home field. OUr guys will come to play, they just dont have much to play with--yet!

Oh......and its HOT and HUMID. Some of our guys will be heaving and fainting.
