My Predicition and Poll

I don't claim to have any insider info and this is just a shot in the dark. I predict they make nelson into a hybrid Running back/QB and they have heaps in on every play. Thus they play with 1 1/2 QBs.

Heck what do i know I've only got about ten posts but i want to hear your thoughts. ;)

IIRC, Bronco already pretty much said they wouldn't see the field at the same time. Besides, Nelson is not a running back, he is a running QB, there is a huge difference. Even the best running QB's would fail miserable if converted to running back.

Disagree, MJ. Riley would be our second best RB, but with the same fumble issues of our top guy. Too bad our best RB isn't getting snaps because our staff is in love with non-talents like Kariya.

Send him in at RB then and you'll see. A RB is a totally different animal than a QB. Like all running QB's his success at running is based on his threat to pull up and throw. Everyone on the D knows he could pull up and throw so they (LB's) are back in coverage and have to fill late., take away that threat and what you have is an average (probably poor) running back at best where LB's are filling holes rathar than coming out of pass coverage. If that is what the coaches end up doing I will have to see it to believe it, I just don't see it. We might just have to agree to disagree until it is shown on the field.

riley has an injury and won't be playing. Bronco will have him suit up and warm up but not play just to waste Jimbo's sweet preparation time.

I'm sorry, but Riley doesn't throw half the time when he is quarterback. What makes you all think he will all the sudden start looking up field as a running back? A running back pass isn't going to happen unless it is scripted. And that won't convert because people will be watching for it, even if Riley can contain the jitters.

That non-talent racked up over 100 yards of offense last year against Oklahoma. No non-talent in the world can do that.

That game he was the feature back, this year he is a combo-back, essentially a fullback. He is being used to get short yardage and he is doing that quite well. 3.3 yards per carry against Air Force.



He is doing exactly what the coaches are asking him to do. If he were the feature back this year like he was against Oklahoma then we'd see better numbers from him because he'd be getting plays designed for more yards. But he's not the feature back, JJ is.



Tonga had negative yards against Utah last year, was he a non-talent? ;)
