OC as TE just a rumor

Would be an interesting shake up. But let's be careful about what he choose to believe. This is just a silly rumor that we shouldn't make a big deal of. ;) Some of the other guys currently getting snaps will be playing exclusively on the scout team. Your thoughts?

Details? Where did you hear this? Who is on the scout team? BTW I think Chambers would do well as a TE. He is an excellent blocker and should pose matchup problems for LBs no?

Watch the Air Force game, he allows a Cadet to get right by him and tackle Nelson on a 3rd down. It would've been an easy first down had Riley went for it sooner, but especially had Chambers blocked the guy. He literally put his hand on the guy's shoulder and let him fly by him...he quit on the play and gave up in the game.

Chambers is a fabulous blocker. I am not a Chambers lover by any means, not a hater either, just a chambers neutral. But kid can BLOCK! I remember a Riley run that went for a huge game last week, and the only reason it did is because he threw his guy into the front row. He does fabulous on KR's every time he doesn't have the ball, just laying down wood. Chambers can and should do a lot of things better, in mind, but block isn't one of them.

Don't know if you caught it last night but RWilson twice tweeted. The first just said "changes". The second stated changes a great song. And his first tweet was deleted. Obvious something the coaches are waiting to announce. Then you get Wrubbel saying Talo had some info on a "big change" that he would report on TBS supposedly last night.



BTW - Wrubbel's tweet is gone too. Interesting.

Just a way out there random guess, but is it possible that Riley plays some tailback and that the Cougs end up with 2 throwing options on some plays?



Or Eason to corner and Bradley to safety like we've discussed before....



Those are changes that seem to make sense.

Not unless it's Lark or Munns (or Chambers) making the second pass.

The coaches would be fools to not put in Nelson as a RB on some plays.

He is already a junior. This year is already out of the picture. We will redshirt him next year so he can put on weight and learn the position for one year? By then one of our other tight ends will be the next in a long line of great BYU tight ends.



It worked for Coats because we did it when he was a freshman. Too late for Chambers.

I agree with both those changes and I hope they happen, but I doubt they will. I think putting Riley at WR on some plays would be cool too. Obivously putting Riley at RB or WR every play or most plays wouldn't be smart but to do it occasionally would be a good idea, IMO. I've though from the beginning that Heaps is the better QB now, but Riley has too much talent to not utilize him. We're over-utilizing Riley and obviously under-utlizing Heaps. Why not take advantage of the talent we have. Between Heaps and Riley there's an enormous amount of talent. Riley has got to be one of the toughest guys we've had in a while and Heaps has more potential than any QB we've ever had, IMO. I don't see why we can't have a Leak/Tebow type tandem.

Do we really want the worst tackler on the team to be the last line of defense between the line of scrimmage and the end zone? The switch they need to make with Bradley is to the bench. Move Chambers to safety. He'd light people up!

Bradley is a better tackler than Thomas.

He's a better tackler than Thomas and would be much better in pass coverage too. He would have Rich right there to help out with tackling instead of kind of being on an island at CB. Tackling may not be a strength of his but he could definitely improve our D if he moved there. He's not the only guy that would help us at FS. Thomas is only 5'11" and 172 lbs. Other guys that could play at FS. Bradley is 6'0" and 193 lbs. Eason is 5'8" and 172 lbs. Uale 6'2 and 197 lbs. Galea'i is 6'0" and 179 lbs. Does anyone know why Galea'i is a SS and not a FS? I think we should move him to FS especially with Sampson coming next year.

Bradley to safety is a no brainer in my mind. Eason has outperformed bradley from what i have seen anyway at corner. i feel comfotable with eason at corner but i do not feel comfortable with thomas at safety. i am sure he is a great guy but he is in over his head there.

No way Bradley goes to safety as he doesn't have what it takes between the ears. The safeties have to be the brains and leadership of the defense more importantly than being great athletes ... Look at gooch and johnson, big on brains, but only good, not great athletes. I have heard, and it makes sense that Wilson is switching to defense to help with safety duties. Unfortunately it will likely take him a lot of time to catch on and will not likely make an immediate impact. I agree That uale would do well at safety.



I have also caught wind of the chambers to play tight end rumors. Makes some sense for receiving, but don't see how he handles TE blocking assignments. The QB changes with Riley to RB or defense are likely just someones wishful thinking and don't seem to make much sense.
