When Beck and company left, yes, we reloaded with Hall, Pitta, Collie and Unga (all NFL-caliber players). But the ammunition we have to reload with this season isn't quite up to par at current face value with the last time we emptied the magazine.
I say it's time for the coaches to admit that and start playing the players that will cause the most damage next season. There are going to be a lot of eyes on us next season when we embark on Independence and it would be real embarrassing if our receivers were still having to deal with wobbly, floaters thrown 5 feet wide or bullets at their ankles.
Bronco should take a page from baseball. If you have a phenom pitcher in the ranks, you get him on the mound and start working out the kinks so next season he can be your Ace pitcher.
Heaps is going to have to learn to shoulder the burden sometime and there's no time like the present, so let's get to rebuilding. And rather than tell the fans, "We're reloading," tell it to them like it is and say, "We're rebuilding this year and are going to have some ups and downs this season."
