A Positive thought

A few years ago, we went to Tulsa, and they threw trick plays at us all night, beating us in a shoot out. After the game, everyone was doom and gloom about our inept defense, and how we would lose half our upcoming games, because the defense couldn't compete. That turned out to be one of our best defenses, and although we saw a lot of trick plays thrown at them the rest of the year, I don't think a single trick play succeeded after Tulsa.



Bronco has a knack for solving problems, and sometimes when they really mess up, he has the best opportunity to teach. I don't know if they will turn around and be a great team the rest of the year. They are very inexperienced and have a lot to learn, but I am not going to give up on them because they had a bad game. That might just be the best teacher they could ever have. Doing well in the first game didn't mean that they would do well in the second game, nor does doing poorly in the second game mean that they are doomed to do poorly in the next game, or for the rest of the season. I have faith in Bronco and his staff, that they will find the way to get the best out of our team, and that they will have agood season, despite loosing a game.

I like your attitude and I hope you're right, today was just a bad day all around for me, and I hope we can fix these mistakes. It's a good lesson learner for these young guys, but honestly for some of these guys that are veterans on this team, their lack of play comes with no excuses. I just hope this makes us a better team.

problem is, we didn't get beat by trick plays tonight. The trickiest thing they threw at us was a wr reverse, which is pretty standard. That Tulsa game was trick plays most the night. WR screen throws, HB passes, and they went crazy deep ball on us. We just plain and simple got demolished tonight, and it is very telling. I have no doubt Bronco will do his best to right the ship, because it literally is his job.

I was thinking the same thing. In 2007 we had a good home win against a PAC-10 team to open the season and then lost the next two games. We finished 11-2.

Don't get me wrong I am not predicting a loss next week for sure, FSU looked as bad as we did yesterday. And I am not predicting an 11-2 season, but the season isn't over because of one loss. It's not as if many of us thought a BCS bowl was a realistic goal for this team.

My personal hope has always been for another 10 win season, that's going to be tough but I think it is still doable.

In that 11-1 season, we beat AFA and all MWC teams this year, the MWC is better, deeper and we just might get out first 4th place finish under Bronco. Yes, it is a real possibility. And if we are going to, I'd rather do it with youth getting experience than with poor upper classmen wasting reps.

Our 2010 schedule is much, much, MUCH more difficult. I'm usually an optimist, but if we don't fix this asap, we're screwed.

There's a good chance we'll see it against Navy if we (and they) make it to the Poinsettia bowl.

I think the biggest thing that needs fixed is the attitude. There was no life in either the offense or the defense. Bronco and others mentioned that after the game. I think he called it the"sideline demeaner." They might have been overlooking AF, or something else, but they were not into the game as they should have been. Instead of fighting back, they were hanging their heads. That is an overcomable problem, and I don't think this team is as bad as they played yesterday. Here's hoping they get it together fast!
