Turning Point in the AFA Game:

After McKay Jacobsen gets blown up on his crossing route and has to stay down to catch his breath, AFA is rightfully called for a PF on the hit. As he gets to his feet, Jacobsen gives the offending Falcon the finger.



And it all goes downhill from there. "When you're doing what's right on and off the field...." something, something.

I thought it was funny how Chambers was talking smack to his defender after he got a PI call on him. He fails to do anything of significance the entire game, but talks up a storm of smack on his opponent for a penalty.

I'm so tired of Chambers... He is less than electric on kickoffs, and a constant fumble risk (had another one today although I don't think they scored it - he should have fallen on the ball, not thrown it into the endzone.) Though he did fall on the ball DiLuigi squirted out... nicely done there. For all the talk and distraction he provides, he hardly does anything to back it up (other than run block, which he does very well.) When was his last 100 yard receiving game? He averaged 28 yards a game receiving last year...



Something about walking the walk, if you talk the talk.

Still waiting on that guaranteed kick return TD.

Oh yeah, and a dropped TD in the endzone. Riley deserves that one tallied up for him.

While I realize your post and this thread is a bit tongue in cheek, I really think the entire momentum of the game turned when J.J. fumbled on his big run that ended up a touchback for AFA.



If we finish that possession off with a td, I'm not sure that the entire face of the game doesnt' change.

Certainly that would have been a game changer, but BYU was still in the game until the 3rd quarter when they decided they were tired and didn't want to play anymore.

You guys know better than I, but I don't see it. AF dominated us--they controlled the line of scrimmage offensively and took care of things defensively the second half...I do not think one play sustains us for 3 extra quarters....we had the wrong personnel in, were outcoached and got outplayed...we would have lost 35-21

Well, if we have the lead, or it is tied, than maybe AF would feel the need to pass the ball more often, or feel more inclined to do tricky plays then a steady diet of fullback, which tore us to pieces.



So yes, and no. You never know what happens when you change one play... it is just something that keeps us busy and lets us vent our frustration in semi-healthy ways. ;)

I agree that this was the turning point. That and had Chambers caught the ball that was in his hands in the endzone on that PI play. So BYU got the ball moved up 15 yards, the penalty was before they got into the endzone and he sill should have caught that ball. Perhaps Heaps and Riley should throw the ball end over end to him since he has no trouble catching kickoffs that tumble end over end. Yesterday should have been a break out game for the entire receiving corp, instead it looked like we have the worst bunch of receivers we've seen at BYU in a long, long time.

The turning point of the game, IMO, was when the coaches decided that they love service academies so much that they want to run their offenses. I just hope this isn't the turning point in the season that leads us to below .500 ball behind a kid with the heart of a lion and the passing ability of a (bad) little leaguer.
