One thing to note that I hadn't seen anywhere before (maybe I just missed it...) is that "he played the entire 2009 season with a hernia in his groin. Allen says that it was an injury that he sustained during his sophomore season at Foothill and was not properly diagnosed until after the end of his junior year at BYU. He underwent surgery to fix the problem this past January." Nothing but impressed with Logan on and off the field.

I loved this story. I think that sometimes we forget that these guys are real people with feelings. Just think how proud his mother is playing the video of our stadium chanting Logan's name, then reverse it and think how she would feel if he were being booed for some reason. I have said this before and I will say it again. There is no place for booing our own players or coaches. I don't care if we are paying customers. These kids and coaches are giving their all trying to give us some enjoyment. Sark even mentioned being booed in the 95 Utah game in a recent interview. 15 years later, it still hurts him, it has too if he still mentions it when asked about BYU fans. Anyway, didn't want to hijack the thread. I just had this thought come to my mind when I read the article.

Logan could very well be my favorite player on the team. Playing at least five inches shorter than the receivers he covered, and with a hernia, and still making All-American? Freaking impressive!!

WOW! Shades of Linette Chambers and Curtis Brown's mother. I love stories like that_____and people like that. Good for you, Mama. No wonder you have such an outstanding son. We love having him here.

Nice article. I've always thought that BYU football was a great vehicle for the mission of the church. As long we have guys like Logan (non-LDS) coming through the program that have positive things to say and recruiting new fans, the end of sports at BYU will not come. Unlike the Crowton years where non-LDS recruits were creating a big mess - I thought we were seeing the beginning of the end back then.

I loved that story. Warms the cockles of your heart. It is amazing when an undersized athlete wins you over with his play. I constantly have to remind myself that he really is only 5'6" because he sure does play a lot bigger.

What a great story. I have always loved Logan and his play. I think that he brings it every game. I think that he uses his size as an advantage almost daring guys to throw his way. What a great player and story.

And it's a good thing Logan is only 5'6". Because if he was taller, he wouldn't be at BYU. Some other school would have picked him up. He's a great talent. BYU got an absolute steal in him!
