Win game 2 and it takes care of itself. Win games a2 and 3, and the respect will really come. Not worried after 1 week. Just want to win game 2, then really show up for game 3 and see what happens.

Exactly. The media had written off BYU preseason due its difficult schedule. BYU was supposed to lose 2 or 3 of its first 4 games and be irrelevant.



Now, after BYU wins Saturday, experts will still think that BYU will lose to FSU (especially given last year's debacle), so BYU still will not matter until after that game.



If BYU is 4-0, I fully expect to have a top 15 ranking in both the coaches and the writers, if not top 10.

If FSU beats Oklahoma this week, a 4-0 start for us will be top 10.

I really do think the FSU game will be the "OU" game of 2009 and "UCLA" game of 2008. Coaches put together the perfect game plans for those games after months of preparation. I've suspected for awhile that the loss to the criminoles last year didn't sit well with Bronco and he confirmed it recently in an interview. Many people have written this game off as a sure loss but I hold to the belief that we stand a good chance in this one.

I hope if we have to be ranked that we don't rise fast like 08 and 09. I think we play better when we are discounted. We could be unranked til game 8 and I'd be pleased.

I know what you mean, but I don't know how the ranking could be a hinderance this year. With the way FSU and TCU have beaten us blue even if we were ranked #1 we should not overlook them and play the way we did against OU last year. After that Utah is the only real test. Once again, no reason to feel overconfident.
