BYU ranked #17

Ok, so it's not the AP or the USA Today, but BYU is getting some respect.

I'll take what we can get, but I have serious concerns about a guy who has Iowa at #2.

Personally I hope we stay out of the top 25 as long as possible. I love playing the part of the underdog

Iowa is off to a better start than last year. 37-7 win this year, 17-16 against Northern Iowa in 2009. The injury to their quarterback was the only reason they did not go undefeated last year.

ESPN Non-AQ poll BYU enters as #5. Heavy on the MWC teams

I'd put both BYU and AFA ahead of Houston. AFA torched them in the bowl game, and UH plays zero defense. otherwise, it is fine.

I think that #27 is a good spot for us considering we lost a lot of starters (more than just QB) and we "played good enough to win" against Washington, who is not exactly a powerhouse these days. What's the justification for a #17 ranking? You could argue that we should have started the season ranked, but based on preseason rankings (average from 4 major sports magazines) and week 1 results I feel very comfortable with this list that I developed and with us at #27.
