Max Hall: The BEST Arizona Cardinals quarterback

During halftime of the Notre Dame game, Peter King from SI.com was on talking about the Arizona Cardinals cutting Matt Leinart. He said Ken Wisenhunt told him that the decision was as much about Max Hall as it was Matt Leinart, and that Max Hall was the best quarterback during camp. Max Hall is second string.



How about that. Max Hall forced the situation. Max Hall beat out a Heisman Trophy winner, a National Championship winner, an NFL vet.



He just might end up having the best NFL career out of all BYU quarterbacks, except Steve Young.

WOWZER! Well, lets consider some coffee for our blue kool-aid inhibriated friend, K12.

1. Redskins suck. nuf said.

2. Max hasnt started a game yet.

3. Better than McMahon? Some think Mc was better than Young--I dont, but some do.

4. Lets see what other competition is there........as far as starting QB's in the NFL.........?

Ok, maybe a chance at 3rd best.

I was with you til the last sentence. Detmer had a nice 13 yr career, Mcmahon is loved in Chicago (I doubt he couldn't get a free meal at any nice restaurant in that town), and won a super bowl. Max had a nice preseason but it's still the preseason and Matt Leinart still sucks.



It's exciting and I'm just glad that Max is getting paid, but let's not annoint him til he's played in some regular season games against some of the best defensive players in the world. One thing going for him, is that he's also got some of the better skill position players in the league on his team too. I don't think Max would have been promoted to 2nd string if Larry Fitzgerald hadn't signed off on it. (I also am not sure if Leinart gets cut if he hadn't hung Fitzgerald out to dry in the preseason; you don't get that boy hurt without pissing off ownership)

Yeah, the last sentence is blue goggled view, but looking at the receiving corps Max could put up some big numbers.



McMahon did win the Super Bowl, which I didn't forget, but if I remember well, he never had a 3,000 yard season (Walter Payton had something to do with that, I think). Just because you are a crowd favorite that doesn't make you better than the rest. McMahon trailed off after the SB, injuries caused that, I think.



Max has exceeded most everyone's expectations to this point, so why couldn't he have a better career than Detmer or McMahon? I am not saying he will, but I have to think it is a possibility.

My grandpa was an NFL scout in the 70s and 80s. He remains adamant that Jim McMahon was the most gifted quarterback he's ever seen play. He likes to tell about going to a practice before a bowl game to watch McMahon, and McMahon was showing off by throwing curve balls with the football by winging it end over end instead of spiraled.

This is really turning into a soap opera.



Tennessee, with Norm Chow (Leinart's OC in college) passed up on Leinart for Vince Young in the draft.



Now Young's hometown team, who passed on both Leinart and Young in the draft, has acquired Leinart.

I think I'll let Max win a regular game first before giving him MAX props and placing him in the HALL.



Still, Watching him play and run from defenders pouring through the 3rd string oline, made me wonder why Beck wasn't more elusive. Max just refused to go down half the time and managed to find people.

This has gotta be one of the best stories so far in the young NFL season. WOW what a cool story, YOU GO MAX

I just hope Max has a better career in the NFL than Alex Smith. I mean, that will burn every Ute fan to the core, and i want to see their #1 pick suck more than our undrafted FA who hates them and calls them classless. Sweet victory.
