Anyone going to the AFA game?

If you are, you are invited to a pancake breakfast at my home the morning of the game. Through my sources in the Utah Valley restaurant industry, I have acquired the Magleby's pancake recipe and we'll make all you can eat. Bacon is a given as well--applewood smoked to celebrate the Fall.



We'll probably start about 10 (okay, so it's probably a pancake "brunch"). We live on the SW edge of the Denver Metro area in Highlands Ranch, a one-hour drive to Falcon Stadium. If you are driving from Provo/SLC, we are right on your way.



We were going to tailgate, but getting a permit to tailgate at AFA is a nightmare of red tape. So, if you're in town and interested, give me a PM and I'll send you the address.

We live in North Colorado Springs (Briargate area) and are having lots of family and friends in town for the game. I think we will have 8 adults and 13 kids staying at our house, should be crazy. We might hit the alumni tailgate at the stadium, the kids want to see cosmo and the adults want to see the cheerleaders, jk. Should be a great game, I can't wait.

My mother in law will be in town to see her precious daughter and granddaughter. Denver is probably about as close as the football Cougs (I'm going to the Creighton hoops game) are going to get to me this year and we went to Dallas last yr; but unless I could convince my wife to cut me loose, I think I'm stuck entertaining.



(on the bright side, my house has never been cleaner. the wife went to town on it... maybe the inlaws need to visit more often... I'll never have to hire illegals again to do it)



on another note; and i think I'll start a thread on it, does anyone have a copy of the game? my wife had messed with my dvr (we have it attached to our pc so I can usually cut and paste segments on the broadcast with adobe premiere pro 2; I've been practicing and experimenting with it since last yrs Oklahoma game; I'm not at the level of furiousmonkey, yet)

I'll paypal you the postage etc. for anyone that can get me a copy; even VHS would work (just a lot more hassle to convert it)

Me and my son are making the drive from SLC to Colo Springs for his 9th birthday to see the game!!! I have 4 total with me maybe we will stop by.

I'm going to try to stop by. We're looking right now to see if we have enough $$ to make it out there.

JJ is going to have a HUGE game against the Cadets. Mark it down.

I don't remember what section we were in, but back in 2006, we were in the SE section of the stadium.

I checked airline tickets (over $800 even going to another city for the flight) and it is a 16 hour drive one way. Does not look good.

Through AFA they are cheap, seats aren't too bad considering the size of the venue. I got 4 for 12 each. If you're a fireman/cop or something 9/11ish tickets are 5 bucks. Of course you can get better tickets too.



Remember to wear blue, and the correct blue.

tickets are dirt cheap and if you're driving from utah it's about 12 hours conservatively; but a beautiful drive and the roads aren't bad at all this time of year.

We can usually make it from Colorado springs to alpine in about 9 1/2 hrs. Depending of course on how fast you drive and and how many stops you make it could take longer. If you like to stop at the scenic lookouts or have kids who pee a lot you're looking at closer to 12 hours. In the summer you don't have to worry about snow or ski traffic and it usually flows pretty well.
