Florida's offense looks horrible

3 minutes left in the 3rd and Florida has 44 yards of total offense.

On ESPN.com they are showing that Florida has 26 yards total offense. 43 yards passing, -17 yards rushing. They are averaging almost -1 yard per carry.

If it wasn't for defensive TD's Florida would be getting killed.

Geez, even worse. I must have been just looking at the passing yards.

Well they just ran in a long TD so they will probably end up winning. But these guys don't look to deserve their #4 ranking.

Florida just had a 72 yard rush so the stat sheet doesn't look as bad. #4 team in the country? Give me a break. Pre-season rankings are a joke.

Amen. Since it's Florida though they simply won't move up. Nobody will have the balls to drop them out of the top 25 where they belong. Thankfully this team will get bounced by a couple SEC teams anyway so no big deal.

Texas isn't fairing too well at the moment against Rice. Possibly another (shocking) overrated BCS team?

Seriously. Rice marched on something like a 16 play drive to start the game, then stonewalled Texas 3x on the 1 yard line, then, when Texas got the ball back on the Rice 24, they couldn't get any yards and had to settle for a field goal. Not looking very good (but Rice is).

I get the overrated bit. But it is still one game. Some teams are reloading from losses to their best talent--whether we like tebow or McCoy or not. these teams reload, retrain and most importantly try not to give away a win by expecting full throttle offenses. Its week 1. Its one data point. I'm not defending them, just suggesting that Byu might look very average on offense today as well.

I guess Texas woke up, 17-3 now after the defense scores off a turnover.

Ugly game. The Center just could not snap the ball in the shotgun. It went low, high, left, right, bounced on the ground... They counted something like 16 bad snaps. Not to mention the fumbles. Thank goodness this was the first game of the season, because Florida will not beat an SEC team if it plays this poorly again. This stuff has to be corrected quickly. Reality check though is this is a new season with lots of new starters. I imagine they will look much different in the next couple of games. At least, as a distant second Florida fan, I sure hope so. I agree that Florida did not look like the #4 team, or even a top 25 team today. But then again, everyone is overrated at this point because there is no possible way to tell how good teams are until they play. I think the first rankings should come in during week five.



I'm hoping BYU doesn't look like this to start, but I fully expect them to be more crisp and secure with the football. Bronco's teams seem to do very well the first game of the season.
