Do we cheer for the 'OTHER" Independents?

Kind of curious, I did cheer for other teams in the MWC to win, except for the frUtes, so with our new era starting would you cheer on the other 3 indy's kind of as brothers in arms or do you not care?



I don't have a problem cheering for all 3, even ND. After all if we really are trying to be the ND of the west, why not? ;) (that means TIC)

I always "cheer" for the teams we are going to play/have played in a year. They better they do, the better we look, regardless of conference affiliation. Utah being the exception to every rule.

It will be hard to cheer for other independents if ND/Navy/Army are good and have a chance at a BCS birth and BYU is in the running as well. Same reason that I can't cheer for BSU--they are direct competition. Fortunately with Utah in a BCS conference there is absolutely no reason to cheer for them in any scenario.

I've always cheered for Army and Navy anyway. Cheering for ND might take a little getting used to... but cheering for them when they plays the Yewts should be a great place to start.

I endorse this comment! I've always cheered for Army, Navy, and Air Force. I have a lot of respect for those teams. Notre Dame I have never liked because they are always way overrated. But since they are our brothers in independence now I think I have softened my heart ever so slightly towards Notre Dame.

You should be cheering for Ricky Dobbs already. Guy's a stud.

I say cheer for whoever you want, because whether or not you cheer for them is not going to affect the outcome anyway. Whatever is going to happen will happen. Or is the question, would a team winning be more or less advantageous for us? That's a different question from who should I cheer for. Me? I cheer for Army, Navy, and Air Force. Call it patriotism. I generally cheer against Notre Dame, but not in all cases--such as when they are playing USC or anyone in the Big 10 except Penn State. BTW, Utah winning in the Pac 10 is more advantageous for us, if we beat them in the final game of the season--what with rankings and all--or simply improving our strength of schedule. But that doesn't necessarily mean I will cheer for them. It depends on who they are playing. I actually think I may cheer for the Utes in the Pac 10 because I don't live in Utah and I don't have to deal with :utard: s on a regular basis, and mostly because I can't stand anyone else in the PAC 10 with their arrogance. Of course, if Utah wins too much, they will probably be just as arrogant, in which case I will reassess my policy of cheering for them in the PAC 10.

I cheer for non-AQ vs BCS. I still want to see Big Least and Pac-12 fall on their faces.
