bostoncougI just got back from meeting Bronco and the team as part of the team's Thursday's Hero. For those of you who don't know what Thursday's hero is, each week, the team meets a Cougar fan who is sick, and can help remind the team that there is more to football in life, and that playing football is a blessing. Anyway, my friend is in need of his second kidney transplant, after the first transplant failed after three years. The team invited my friend to be a part of Thursday's hero, and my friend invited me and my family. :D
So, I got to take a tour of the football offices, (my friend got to sit in Bronco's chair.... how he didn't blow up after experiencing so much awesomeness, i'll never know. :crazy: ) We then got to go out and watch the practice. The team looked good, and Ross Apo made some VERY impressive leaping catches in the end zone.
Anyway, after practice, Bronco came over and introduced my friend to the team, and Bryan Kariya gave him a bunch of free BYU stuff, including a Pendleton jersey, a replica Y flag similar to the one that the team brings on the field, and then he got to sign THE flag that the team brings onto the field. Bronco then asked my friend to break the team huddle. Bronco then invited him to join them for ANY practice that he wanted to attend.
The point of this thread is just to acknowledge one of the MANY reasons I am a BYU fan, and believer in Bronco. This program (Thursday's Hero) does so much good for those less fortunate. Bronco leads by example and is making Men out of Boys, and Men that I as a fan can be proud of cheering on.
