Basically admitting that we got everything we wanted which probably came at a suprise to the mwc morons.

This will be fun to watch MWC backpedal on how they hated on BYU when they try to work deals to play in Provo on ESPN.

I wonder if he was crying as he wrote it? :(

I want to know what the idiot in Laramie, the 2 clowns in Ft. Worth and the San Diego writer think? They are all eating major humble pie right about now. The Las Vegas writer was good to BYU.

He probably doesn't care at all that BYU left the MWC. He knows what BYU is trying to get done through the athletics department and I'm sure he sees that this move was to BYU's advantage.

The only comments I have heard out of Lavelle during this whole process is that he would prefer to see BYU in a conference. I don't think he would have been for independance if he were still the coach.

He said at first he didn't like it, but after hearing about it he was excited. I think its fair to see he probably doesn't love the idea.



We didn't have a choice though. The MWC left us no choice.

Were the MWC really that stupid? Did they really think that BYU couldn't get this. Did it really come as that much of a suprise when Samuelson had told them that espn was on board? I just don't get why the mwc was being so stupid.

What I am really interested in seeing is if the mtn folds or not. We know the payout for the mtn is definitely going to be less than the 1.4 or whateer they were getting not to mention there is one more mouth to feed.

I hope that a couple months from now, more details on the negotiations come out (as they just did about Nebraska). I hope BYU gave the MWC a second (well, 10th) chance, just to be fair, but it is clear from today that CS&TH had their minds set on independence by then. Did Hair/MWC/mtn/Comcast/CBS offer a TV concession that wasn't enough? Did Hair do what he said (that would be a first) and refuse to make any concessions? Or, did Hair do his best to make up, but Comcast thought we were bluffing and refused to budge?

The details on Nebraska came out because they are a state school and subject to the Freedom of Information Act, which requires them to disclose emails, contracts etc. etc. etc.



BYU is a private university. No FOIA means no required disclosure. It's why we don't know how much Bronco or Rose make, and it's why we'll never get any details on negotiations/compensation.

ON this same topic, i was just watching around the mountain and oh my those guys are bitter. it was like 40 minutes of byu bashing. wow. they are so uneducated. they have only listened to soundbites and obviously done zero homework. didn't watch the presser obviously either. total bitter morons. you could see they were actually getting angry. why can't they have fans come on. we are much more ducated on this stuff than they are and they get paid to do it.

I know; I wouldn't expect the leak to come from there, but from someone else who was in on the conversation, like another president (who leaked the other stuff) or Hair himself (to try to save face if he can).



On the other hand, today Holmoe did let out more of what was happening behind the scenes than we've gotten in the past, and I wouldn't be surprised if he opened up more, eventually.
