The Western Athletic Conference and Brigham Young University have entered into a scheduling agreement as announced today by WAC Commissioner Karl Benson. With BYU declaring that it will be an independent in the sport of football effective with the 2011 season, five WAC teams – Hawai‘i, Idaho, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State and San Jose State – will provide the Cougars with five games in the 2011 season and four games in the 2012 season.

Attractive as Roy Munson from Kingpin, at least we have for sure 6 wins already for 2011

Looks a lot like a Boise State schedule that led to BCS games. Not complaining.

What about Utah State? Aren't we already under contract with them for next year? Or are they basically announcing that Utah State has been invited to the MWC?

How is that different from the bottom of the mountain west?

I left that part out, we are under contract with them so the wac specifically said they left utah st out of the deal since BYU is playing them through 2012.

How is this different from an SEC schools non-conference schedule...

So so far we have

Texas

Oregon State

Hawaii

Idaho

La Tech

NMSU

SJSU

Utah St

Utah

A pretty decent schedule so far. That leaves three dates to fill, possibly four if we play at Hawaii.

I have heard the deal with Notre Dame could possibly start next year. Add Army, Navy, and maybe Air Force and I would be happy with that.

Because BYU isn't sharing equal revenue with the crappy teams they're playing anymore.

UCF ;)

We play enough name teams that if we manage to knock off Texas, Oregon State and Utah, that we'll have an argument for a BCS bowl. I like the schedule.

In a post game interview with Bronco.

He said he would like to play Hawaii, Boston College, and Michigan. Usually when Bronco wants to play a certain team... Holmoe makes it happen.

Bronco also said Holmoe will announce a couple teams we will play when Holmoe is ready, cause it wasn't Bronco's place to say it. Which I thought Holmoe would have announced it today, but the holiday is probably the reason for it not being announced.

Rumorboard said it was a team that we have never played before. That removes BC. Could it be Michigan? That would be awesome.

Bronco also mentioned that he would like every player on the team to play in one Big Time school in their college career. That's when he mentioned Michigan, and that he would like to schedule them. I hope it's a home and home, whoever they are.

We need them to come to Provo. Utah would/will never be able to get schools like Texas, Notre Dame, Miami, Penn St., Florida St., and USC(now that will change since they'll be in the same conference) to ever come to their house. That's one of the reasons why I love us going Independent!

I know a couple years ago, Tom Holmoe mentioned in an article, that he was pursuing to signing a contract with Auburn, and Ole Miss.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's an SEC school.

Anything is better than New Mexico and CSU. Those teams stink!

Idaho put up a big fight last season.

It will be a home and home otherwise ESPN would not support it. That must be why we did not schedule MWC teams.
