Lenn Robbins: Hair Thompson should be put in straight-jacket

Watching ESPN, and Lenn Robbins (new york post) is on, talking about WAC and MWC commissioners. Said they should "both be put in straight-jackets or something." :lol: :lol: :lol:

I wish I truly get the opportunity through more disclosure in the future as to what happened for Thompson to so turn on BYU to the extent that he did. He should be a professional and while I understand and tip my hat that he tried to derail BYU's departure in defense of the conference, did he really think that we would just turn the other cheek and crawl back into our corner when we were one of the prime attractions to the conference and he just flat out ripped our feet from under us? He either thought that that was his only option or he was actually looking for the opportunity to now draw up a new TV contract if the other is now void with the departure of BYU and Utah. I'd like to know which it was. It's hard to believe it's the TV contract because I have to think the mtn is in jeapordy. Further I saw zero love from any of our companions in the conference to even attempt to console us or bring us back. Everyone seemed to think of us as entirely arrogant and nothing else. It's going to be an interesting trip through the conference this year in all sport. Utah will be "somewhat" our only compadre as they too will feel the rath of the MWC, howbeit at a lower level.

It may have been after the New Mexico game in 2006. We won, and he got on stage to present the conference trophy. And he was roundly booed by all in attendance. And we were happy to do it! Why? Because of the freaking mtn contract. The mtn is his magnum opus. And our disdain for it has to be a real kick to the groin for his ego. I'll bet he was thinking of that night in '06 and savoring his revenge when he invited Fresno and Nevada. And I'll bet he's just that much more pissed that it didn't work.

That just shows you how unfit Hair is to be the commish because he lets emotion dictate what he will do. If he were smarter and really wanted to stick it to BYU he still could have invited Fresno and Nevada but not make the announcement until after BYU made it's official announcement it was joining the WAC. At that time it would have totally screwed BYU because they wouldn't have any other options, so I guess we can thank him for reacting so childishly and that he did it so quickly so BYU could come up with another plan. He must be a :utard:

I think hes actually a Big 12 guy originally. Or maybe SEC. At any rate, hes done a great job firmly ensconcing the MWC a mid-major, never to get AQ status. Maybe not even survive. :-)
